How to earn Hilton Honors points when you book rides with Lyft
Lyft currently partners with three loyalty programs and its partnership with Hilton dates back to 2019. For most people, this is probably Lyft's most rewarding partnership, and it allows Hilton Honors members to earn points on rides booked in the United States and Canada. Here's everything you need to know about the Hilton/Lyft partnership.
Booking an IHG stay? Get up to 17% cash back with these deals
Earlier, we published an article discussing a new 3x promotion that IHG will be running from 1 July and anyone interested in that (or in any other IHG booking for that matter) should note that TopCashback is currently offering up to 15% back and Rakuten is offering up to 10% back on select IHG bookings. This could be a good opportunity to save on your next stay.
100k and 200k welcome bonuses for the Sapphire Reserve Cards are now live
Today, 23 June 2025, is the day that the newly refreshed Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card and the newly created Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ Card are launched and after days of debate, anticipation, and guesswork, we now know exactly what welcome bonuses both cards will be offering.
It’s “no thank you” from me to the new Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card (at...
After a brief period marked by guesses and leaked information, we now know what the "refreshed" Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card will look like when it launches on 23 June, and after having now had time to carefully consider what the card will be offering, I don't think that this is a card for me ... at least not right now.
Have the new Chase Sapphire Reserve® earning rates been leaked?
Apparently, Chase is currently teasing some upcoming changes to its most premium consumer credit card - the Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card - but as with just about all internet teases, there's not a lot of substance being shared by the bank so speculation as to what's on the way has been growing. Now, however, we may have better idea of what changes will be made to the Sapphire Reserve's earning rates courtesy of an accidental site update spotted by a Reddit user.
Make sure you’re earning easy Amex points through Rakuten
Cash back can be great, but in the miles and points world it's the versatile transferable currencies that rule and that's why Rakuten's partnership with American Express can be a key tool to use in your day-to-day miles and points strategy. This becomes especially true as we enter the two months of the year which, for a lot of people, are the months in which a lot of shopping and spending is done.
Save 10% on your next Hyatt Place stay with this offer [Targeted]
If my cards are anything to go by, the past few months have seen Chase focusing heavily on offers on stays for Marriott properties with little or no offers appearing for stays made with Hyatt. Well, that has now changed with select cardholders being targeted for a Hyatt Place offer.
What I assume are mistakes in the Chase Sapphire Preferred terms and conditions can...
One of the benefits that comes as part of the package offered by the Chase Sapphire Preferred® credit card is a $50 credit that is automatically applied to a cardholder's account once a year when they use their card to make a hotel booking through the Chase Travel℠ portal, and up until now, I thought I understood the terms and conditions that come attached to this benefit.
Amex is making the redemption of Uber credits a little more irritating
Both the Platinum Card from American Express and the American Express Gold Card offer cardholders Uber/Uber Eats credits that can be used within the United States and up until now, these credits have been easy to use and haven't required much thought. From November, that's no longer going to be the case.
How to earn airline miles & points with Airbnb
If you're in the ever-growing group of travelers who are choosing to book vacation rentals over hotels, it's important you realize that you don't have to pass up on earning miles and points just because your chosen accommodation isn't part of a major corporation.
Sometimes it may take a bit of effort to maximize your earnings, but the earning opportunities are still there. You just have to know where to look.
Flash Sale: Up to 20% off + 10,000 bonus Avios with Qatar Airways...
Today has seen Qatar Airways launch a couple of promotions for departures from Europe which may offer good value if you're prepared to book in the next few days. The promotions cover dates well into next year (one covers travel through the end of June 2025), so there should be scope for quite a few people to make the most of these offers.
Earn 3x Hyatt points at Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt
For a limited time, Hyatt is now offering World of Hyatt members the chance to earn 3x points on stays booked through its Homes & Hideaways portal that take place in the next couple of months.
Plaza Premium Lounge London Heathrow Terminal 2 review
The last time I visited the Plaza Premium Lounge in Heathrow T2 the world was in the grip of COVID-19 and this was the only lounge still operating in the whole of the terminal.
Three years on from those dark days, I found myself flying out of Heathrow T2 on an Aer Lingus flight to Dublin, so this seemed like a good opportunity to see what the lounge is like when more than a handful of passengers are traveling and when pressure on the lounge is considerably higher.
Chase has extended and improved its DoorDash partnership for select cardholders
Recently, Chase announced that it was extending its partnership with DoorDash for a further three years, and alongside that announcement came the news that holders of select Chase cards would be getting a few extra benefits on top of the DashPass benefit that they already get.

Which credit cards offer Global Entry & TSA PreCheck credits?
Global Entry is the US CBP program that gives members expedited entry into the United States via kiosks stationed at major points of entry and removes the need for passengers to stand in seemingly endless immigration lines as they wait to enter the country. The program currently costs $100 for a 5-year membership, but if you hold that right credit card, that fee can be rebated.
6 of the best credit cards for dining, takeout & delivery services
A wide variety of cards offer bonuses or cash back for spending on dining, takeouts, and food delivery services, so I've pulled together a selection of five cards that I think offer some of the best returns available on dining expenditure. With no-annual-fee cards sharing this list with ultra-Premium cards, there should be a card that fits most people's wallets in this selection.
Deal: Earn 10 Amex points/dollar (or 10% cash back) on IHG bookings
Rakuten is back with another good cash back offer with which you can earn 10% cash back or 10 Amex Membership Rewards Points per dollar on most IHG (InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, etc...) bookings. It's not clear how long this offer will last for so don't wait too long if you have an IHG stay that you need to book.
11 reasons to love the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (most are reasons why I...
I hold considerably more credit cards than I can fit into my wallet, so only a few of my cards come with me wherever I am and wherever I go. Some cards have a home in my smartphone wallet but not my actual wallet, and some have to make do with a space in my desk drawer until such time that they're called into action. One or two, however, never leave my side.
Chase Ultimate Rewards: Transfer partners & transfer times [updated 2025 edition]
Chase Ultimate Rewards offers holders of select Chase credit cards the opportunity to earn one of the four big transferable currencies in the miles & points world – Ultimate Rewards points - and these points can be transferred across to a variety of other loyalty programs affiliated to major airlines and hotel chains. In this article, we take a look at these airline and hotel partners.
The hotel points game is alive and well, you just have to play harder
At the risk of sounding old, I'm going to say that the miles & points game was a lot easier 15 years ago. Back then, most travel loyalty programs still had fixed award charts, international flight upgrades weren't rarer than unicorns, hotels didn't (usually) play games with elite benefits, and 'Bonvoy' wasn't a verb.
Interesting: Two Starbucks locations have joined Priority Pass in the UK
Mostly, the restaurants and cafes that partner with Priority Pass are names that most people haven't heard of, but as I was looking through the list of recently added eateries on the Priority Pass website (I had jet lag and couldn't sleep!), I noticed that two Starbucks locations at airports in the UK have recently signed up.
This is why you should have one of the two Chase Sapphire cards
Chase issues the Chase Sapphire Reserve and the Chase Sapphire Preferred credit cards and if you like to travel, if you enjoy playing the miles and points game and if you like being able to earn valuable points with relative ease, you should probably have one of these cards in your wallet...but not necessarily because of what these cards offer on their own.
The World of Hyatt credit card review (2025)
The World of Hyatt credit card the only consumer co-branded Hyatt credit card in existence and is without question a card that should have a place in every Hyatt fan's wallet. Between the earning rates and the great benefits that the card offers, the modest annual fee is easily covered, and with Hyatt often giving cardholders added bonuses in its global promotions, this is a card that keeps getting more valuable.
The Ritz-Carlton™ credit card just got better (I didn’t see this coming)
Yesterday was a big day for announcements in the world of Marriott Bonvoy co-branded credit cards with news that the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant™️ American Express® Card has been refreshed and the news that two new mid-tier cards have been launched. There was, however, one other piece of Bonvoy credit card news that didn't get any fanfare at all and for some, it was the best news of the day.
How to combine Chase Ultimate Rewards Points (Freedom Cards to Ultimate Rewards Cards)
In this post, I set out a simple step-by-step guide that will show you how to combine the points earned by the Chase Freedom Flex® Card, the Chase Freedom Unlimited Card, and the legacy Chase Freedom Card (which is no longer open to new applicants) with points earned by one of Chase's Ultimate Rewards credit cards.
It’s time to say goodbye to my Chase Sapphire Reserve® card
I've held the Chase Sapphire Reserve® since the card was first introduced, but after a number of great years during which the card never left my wallet, it's time for us to part ways. The Reserve card has been a card that I've loved for most of the years that I've held it, but the simple fact is that when I take a look at all the other cards that I hold, I cannot justify the Reserve card's place in my portfolio. It has to go.
Purchases of United Airlines miles will now code as United Airlines purchases (apparently)
Earlier, I reported that United's latest mileage sale ends later today but it was something that I noticed in the terms and conditions that stuck out a lot more than the sale itself. According to United, purchases of Mileage Plus miles will now be recognized as United Airlines purchases and code as such with the credit card companies.
Reminder: Chase Sapphire card holders get added benefits at SBE properties
Accor Hotels took over full ownership of the sbe hotel brands in late 2020 (brands which, among others, include the Delano, Mondrian, SLS, and Redbury brands) so I thought I'd write a quick post to remind holders of the Chase Sapphire cards that their cards give them valuable additional benefits when they stay at select hotels in the sbe portfolio.
American Airlines introduces new Wi-Fi subscription plans
American Airlines has finally decided to do something about the fact that its fleet has three different Wi-Fi suppliers but there has never been a single plan to cover access to all three networks. As of yesterday, the airline is now offering a choice of two monthly plans that give users access to Wi-Fi on all American Airlines aircraft regardless of who the Wi-Fi supplier is.
Global Entry, SENTRI & NEXUS fees may be about to increase
Global Entry, SENTRI, and NEXUS are programs offered by the United States Customs & Border Protection Bureau (CBP) which offer expedited immigration procedures to travelers considered low-risk by the US authorities. The fees for these programs haven't changed in years but a new filing by the CBP suggests that the bureau will be seeking to increase the fees charged by two of the three programs while the fee charged for the third will decrease slightly.
The Citi Premier® Card is changing…for better & for worse
I'm new to the Citi Premier® Card. I've had it for less than two months and it's only in my credit card portfolio because I'd had enough of the Citi Prestige® Card but didn't want to give up on Citi's ThankYou program entirely. Now we're hearing news that the Citi Premie®r Card is changing and that it's changing significantly enough to affect most cardholders.
How To Get A Refund From British Airways – The Last Working Ways
British Airways has been one of the many airlines that have been trying their very best not to offer customers refunds (or making refund requests as difficult as possible) when their flights have been cancelled, and this is despite the fact that the European Commission and the US Department of Transport both recently restated that refunds have to be offered.
Use AAdvantage Miles to upgrade your flights
With American making premium cabin saver awards harder and harder to find it has definitely become a lot more challenging to find great uses for AAdvantage miles in recent years (especially if you're based in the US), but the lack of saver award space doesn't have to mean that an AAdvantage balance is worthless or near-impossible to use effectively.
Star Alliance limits 3rd party lounge access for Gold elites
When a hotel or airline loyalty program puts introduces an apparently unnecessary devaluation I can't help but wonder if they truly understand how they're helping to make the competition look better...and that's how I feel about Star Alliance right now.
Plaza Premium Lounge London Heathrow T3 (arrivals) joins Priority Pass
London Heathrow Terminal 3 is home to most of the oneworld airlines (American Airlines, Qantas, JAL, Cathay Pacific, etc...) as well as to airlines such as Delta, Virgin Atlantic, and Emirates....and it's even the terminal that British Airways uses for the flights that it can't fit into its T5 home.
Oops!…Chase Did It Again!
It was only yesterday that I was giving Chase a well-deserved hard time for altering credit card benefits without any advance warning and sometimes even without informing cardholders at all (cardholders are left to find out by chance or from the various blogs that write about this stuff...and that's if they ever find out at all!) and now it seems that the card issuer has repeated the trick with another one of its credit cards...albeit a credit card that's no longer open to new applicants.
The Chase Sapphire Cards take a hit (a small but important one)
One of the big reasons why I think the Chase Sapphire Reserve card still has its uses is because, despite the highly annoying news we got last week, the card still offers some of the best consumer travel protections around...as does its sister card the Chase Sapphire Preferred.
This Is What Comes In The Marriott Lifetime Titanium Package
I had absolutely no idea that Marriott sends out special packs to Bonvoy members who earn Lifetime Elite status (I haven't even been sent an elite status card for the last 3 years) and, even though I earned the status back at the end of 2018, it was only over the recent holiday period that I received my pack in the mail.
Oh Chase, what are you thinking?!
There have been rumors floating around about possible changes to the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card for at least a year and these rumors came to a head a couple of days ago when a few specific changes were mooted.
Now, despite the fact that Chase has yet to officially inform any cardmembers of impending changes, we're being reliably told that January 12th will see the Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card get a mini-makeover...and it's not going to be a good one.
The World of Hyatt devaluation announcement actually made me happy
Ok, clearly I'm never usually happy, delighted or ecstatic when a loyalty program puts through a change that effectively devalues its offering but, in the case of the recent changes we saw Hyatt announce to the World of Hyatt award chart, my overall feelings were those of relief and, yes, happiness.
Review: Qatar Airways A380 Business Class (Perth-Doha)
It has been a while since I've posted a review of the Qatar Airways A380 aircraft and that's probably because, despite the fact that I fly with Qatar Airways reasonably frequently, I rarely seem to find myself traveling on routes where the airline offers its largest aircraft.
On a recent trip to Australia that all changed and I found myself booked on the Qatar Airways whale-jet for the 11+ hour flight between Perth and Doha.
