Lufthansa Group (which includes Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian, and Brussels Airlines) has today announced that while passengers are currently expected to wear masks that cover their mouth and nose during boarding, during the flight, and during disembarkation, as of next month most face covering will no longer be in compliance with the Group's policies.

When it comes to general program rules and knowing how and when to use various loyalty currencies I'm more than comfortable left to my own devices but, every now and again I encounter something that makes me stop, think and wonder if what I'm looking at is a glitch, an oddity or a program's feature that I didn't know about.

The Lufthansa Group of airlines are announcing their figures for 2018 today and SWISS has used its presentation to announce that it will be introducing a Premium Economy cabin on its long-haul aircraft starting in 2021.

In the same way that the Boeing 747 is out of date and largely uneconomical so is the Airbus A340....so it was more than a little surprising when SWISS reversed a decision to retire its five A340s and, instead, refurbish them and give them a new lease of life.

SWISS is opening the doors to its new First Class lounge at Zurich's Terminal A today and, at the same time, the carrier is launching a new chauffeur service for its First Class customers arriving into Zurich airport.

Staring in January 2016 SWISS will take delivery of the first of nine Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with a "state-of-the-art cabin product in all seating classes". That's a big claim to make although, if SWISS' present cabin products are anything to go by, they may well be telling the truth.
