One of the new bonuses combines points and free night awards, the second is a standard points bonus while the third, is a two-part bonus with points offered for two spending targeted.
World of Hyatt Business Card holders being targeted for 10,000 bonus points
I haven't seen a decent set of Chase spending offers for longer than I care to remember, but an email which dropped into my inbox a little earlier today tells me that some holders of the World of Hyatt Business card are being targeted for a spending offer which could net them 10,000 bonus points.
Flash sale: Buy up to 400,000 IHG One Rewards points at just 0.5 cents each [Targeted]
IHG One Rewards is currently running a flash points sale in which it's offering targeted IHG One Rewards members the chance to buy up to 400,000 points at a cost of just 0.5 cents each.
This is a replay of the sale we saw back in the middle of July, only thins time the sale offer is targeted and not open to all IHG One Rewards members.
Hyatt promotion: 2x points in Europe, Africa & the Middle East
It's been a while since we've has a major Hyatt promotion to discuss, but we finally have one, and even though it's only valid for stays made in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, that's better than nothing so here's a quick look at what's on offer.
Review: JW Marriott Grosvenor House London – Superior Suite (a property I find hard to love)
Given how long it has been since we last published a review of the JW Marriott Grosvenor House London (6+ years), a fresh visit seemed in order, and as I had an expiring Marriott free night certificate that needed using up, I had an economical way with which to book a stay.
Amex is offering a 25% bonus on transfers to Hilton Honors
It's the start of a new month so it's time to look out for new deals, and the first one that we noticed when we opened up our American Express accounts was a new Hilton transfer bonus.
For the next 3 weeks, you'll get 25% more points when you convert your Amex Membership Rewards points into Hilton Honors points, but is this a deal you should be considering?
Earn bonus Membership Rewards points with this Amazon offer [Targeted]
American Express is running a new targeted offer for spending at Amazon.com (through the website or the app) and if you're one of the lucky card holders who can see this offer in their account, you should be able to do reasonably well out of this.
The Ritz-Carlton™ credit card explained (the excellent card you can’t apply for but can still get)
Some credit cards have a shelf life, so while cards like the American Express® Gold Card seem to have been around forever (in one form or another), there are others that have come and gone and are (mostly) forgotten in the mists of time. Not all these cards, however, disappear completely.
Yet another annoying British Airways IT error (this has gone beyond tiresome)
There are quite a few things that British Airways isn't particularly good at doing, but by far and away the most obvious of the airline's failings is its inability to operate an IT system.
Since when can World of Hyatt peak, standard and off-peak dates change mid-year?
Ok, it's very possible that I've missed a bit of news somewhere along the line, but I've been living under the impression that ever since the World of Hyatt introduced peak, standard and off-peak seasons, the dates relating to those seasons are set 13 months in advance and then don't change.
Based on at least one Hyatt property, however, this doesn't appear to be the case.
British Airways cancels two seasonal US routes but increases transatlantic services overall
We may still be two months away from the end of the 2025 Summer season, but British Airways is already moving things around in its Summer 2026 schedules, and a few of the changes pushed through in the past few days affect the airlines routes to and from the United States.
Buy Flying Blue Miles for 1.68 cents or 1.23 pence (US/UK)
Flying Blue is running a new mileage sale in which its offering a discount (not a bonus) of up to 45% on purchases made by mid-September.
It should be noted that Flying Blue miles can also be generated by transfers from all four big US credit card programs (Membership Rewards, Ultimate Rewards, Capital One, and Citi's ThankYou program), so make sure you consider that option before diving into a purchase.
Earn double Qantas status credits or double Qantas points (limited time)
We don't usually cover news to do with the Qantas frequent flyer program, but given that quite a few people are currently looking for a new Oneworld airline program to call home (mostly people disenchanted by the changes over at British Airways), we thought that this double status credits promotion may be worth a paragraph or two.
American Airlines announces a new Flagship Lounge for Charlotte (not much information so far)
It was only a little over a month ago that American debuted it's "Provisions by Admirals Club" lounge at Charlotte Douglas International Airport and now the airline is back with more plans to keep its Charlotte flyers happy - a new Flagship Lounge is on the way.
Alaska Atmos Rewards – still too many unknowns for us to judge the program
Atmos Rewards (the revamped Alaska Airlines/Hawaiian Airlines rewards program) was launched a little over a week ago to mostly positive press/blog reviews, but after looking through the official program details and after having thought things through, I'm not sure all of that positivity is warranted. At least not right now.
Save 10% at Marriott brands with these 5 targeted offers
Following on from the seven deals we saw in July, Chase is now targeting select cardholders for savings on spending made with five different Marriott brands.
As usual, these deals are only available for stays that are paid for in the next few weeks, but the rebates on offer can be worthwhile, so if you have an upcoming Marriott stay, it should be worth checking your cards to see if you have been targeted.
What is the InterContinental Ambassador program and is it worth it? (2025 edition)
IHG One Rewards is the primary loyalty program associated with all of IHG's brands, but the InterContinental brand has its own rewards program too. This is called InterContinental Ambassador and in this article, we take a look at what benefits this program offers and what value those benefits can provide.
Something strange is going on with Chase & Priority Pass
A number of credit cards issued by Chase come with Priority Pass Select membership a s a card benefit and this gives the card holder (+1 or more guests) access to over 1,300 airport lounges (and lounge spaces) around the world. Recently, however, there appears to have been an issue with the Priority Pass membership issued by at least one of Chase's cards and for all I know, this may extend further.
The Hyatt Regency London Olympia will open in May 2026
The Hyatt Regency London Olympia has been in development for at least 5 years (it was in development in December 2020) and now, finally, we have an opening date for the property - 26 May 2026.
Fast track to Alaska Airlines (Oneworld) elite status with flights to & from San Diego
Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards (the new name for the Mileage Plan rewards program) has launched a fast track status promotion aimed at flyers flying to or from San Diego, and given that mid-tier Oneworld status is on offer (Oneworld Sapphire), West-coasters should probably take a closer look at this.
As I suspected would happen, Amex has changed my targeted spending bonus offer
Around eight weeks ago, American Express published a number of spending offers for holders of its business cards and I was fortunate enough to be one of the targeted card holders.
As the offer had a high spending requirement and as the last time a deal like this one appeared Amex improved my offer when, after a few weeks of it going live, I still hadn't saved it to my targered card, I decided to hold off and wait to see what would happen if, again, I didn't save the offer to my card.
ITA Airways flash sale: 20% off all bookings made by end 28 August 2026 (UK, France & Spain)
ITA Airways has launched a new flash sale for departures from the UK, France and Spain in which it's offering 20% off Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class fares (including Light fares) if you book by the end of Thursday 28 August 2025.
Flash deal: Earn a limited-time Southwest Companion Pass with just one trip
The Southwest Airlines Companion Pass continues to be one of the better status benefits offered by any of the major US airlines and now, for the second time in a space of just nine weeks, Southwest is giving you the chance to earn a limited-time version of the pass in just a single trip.
Save up to 15% on EVA Air bookings with this targeted offer
A few weeks short of the last time we noticed this offer appear, Amex has brought back an deal which should interest anyone considering a booking with Taiwan's EVA Air.
The new offer appears to be widely available, so if you're making plans head to Asia between now and October 2026 and are happy to pay before the end of November, this could be an easy way to save a little cash.
Review: Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme (a hotel that’s hard to sum up)
In the miles and points world, there aren't very many city center hotels that are said to be genuinely aspirational, but the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme is one of them, and it's a property that I've been wanting to visit for years.
Why I’m considering the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card (despite not being a big Hilton fan)
My primary hotel chain is Hyatt and my back up chain is Marriott, and this means that I don't stay at Hilton properties very often. Despite this, however, I've found myself considering getting the costly Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card, and the more I think about it, the more sense getting the card seems to make.
Amex offer: Save up to 20% at select high-end Hilton properties [Targeted]
I haven't seen an Amex offer that covers Hilton stays for quite a few weeks so it's good to see that Amex is finally back with an offer for Hilton loyalists. Better yet, this is another Amex offer which covers properties around the globe and not just properties in North America/Caribbean.
Review: The Andaz Prague (simply fantastic)
Better late than never, this is my review of the Andaz Prague, a property which Joanna and I visited a few months ago when I finally stopped talking about visiting Prague and actually booked us a 3-night visit. The property opened in April 2022 (making it one of the newer European properties) and it gets quite a lot of praise online, so I was interested to see how reality and online chatter compare.
[Targeted] Fast track to American Airlines status for World of Hyatt elites
Earlier, we published an article about the opportunities being given to AAdvantage members seeking World of Hyatt, so this article will focus on the more targeted and more limited opportunities being offered to select World of Hyatt elites seeking American Airlines AAdvantage elite status.
Fast track to World of Hyatt status for American Airlines elites
American Airlines and the World of Hyatt have brought back a fast track status promotion that we've seen, in one guise or another, published each year since the Hyatt/American Airlines partnership was launched.
Targeted: Earn 2x IHG One Rewards points in September (should stack with a separate 3x promotion)
IHG One Rewards has launched a new targeted promotion in which it's offering some members the opportunity to earn double base points on stays made in September only.
Annoyingly, however, IHG has brought back a restriction whereby the bonus points can only be earned after the first stay in September has been completed.
Earn up to 11,000 bonus Avios with Qatar Airways holidays
Qatar Airways has launched a new promotion aimed at encouraging flyers to book flight + hotel packages using cash + Avios through its Qatar Airways Holidays portal for travel through January 2026.
Thinking about what I should do when Amex refreshes the Platinum Card
A few people will probably be able to make a strong argument which says that the Platinum Card® from American Express was ruined a few years ago when Amex decided to hike the annual fee and, in return, give cardholders a series of benefits that were more akin to a coupon book than a high-end credit card offering. For me, however, the Platinum Card has continued to be a viable card to hold (just)
The British Airways Avios subscription service (what you need to know)
Back in October 2022, in what may have been a world-first for a major airline loyalty program, the British Airways Executive Club (as it was called then) introduced a subscription service which allows its members to buy Avios at a highly discounted rate. In this article, we take a look at what this subscription service offers.
Hyatt adds another European country to its hotel map
Hyatt continues to have a noticeably smaller footprint than most of its major competitors, but recent years have seen it working hard (through acquisitions, brand conversions, and new openings) to give customers a greater number of choices when planning their next trip.
Alaska Airlines will add flights to London and Reykjavik from 2026
Ever since Alaska Airlines became a member of the OneWorld alliance and it acquired Hawaiian Airlines, its ambition to turn itself into more than just a niche West Coast carrier has been clear.
Review: Park Hyatt London River Thames – Park Suite River View Deluxe (I was right!)
I published a review of the Park Hyatt London River Thames earlier in the year following a 2-night stay, so I don't propose to go over everything the hotel offers all over again (that wouldn't add any value).
What I shall do here, however, is review the Park Hyatt's "Park Suite River View Deluxe room" (I reviewed a standard room last time) and update my thoughts on the property following this second stay.
Two more global hotel deals from American Express [Targeted]
Ordinarily, most of the hotel offers that Amex publishes are limited to, at best, properties in North America and the Caribbean, but Amex has been in a more generous mood of late with more and more of its hotel offers including properties around the world.
Royal Jordanian will fly its new 787-9 Dreamliner to Chicago (new Business Class)
Royal Jordanian, a member of the OneWorld alliance, has a long-haul fleet that, as things stand, is entirely made up of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners which, to be blunt, don't offer a particularly great Business Class experience.
Alaska Airlines will offer seven new SoCal routes from October 2025
The latest news out of Alaska Airlines tells us that starting this fall, it will operate seven new routes to/from Southern California. Five of the routes will be operated year-round while the remaining two will operate for the winter season only.
Everything you need to know about Alaska Airlines Flight Pass
Alaska Airlines Flight Pass is a subscription based service offered by Alaska Airlines for flights covering select cities in California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah (with a very heavy bias in favor of California).
Use Avios to buy FIFA World Cup 2026 tickets
Qatar Airways has announced that as one of FIFA's corporate partners, it will be making match tickets available to Privilege Club members (free to join) via its Privilege Club Collection program.
One thing that British Airways keeps doing that really, really, annoys me
There are a whole variety of things about British Airways which are bad and genuinely very annoying and that the airline needs to be call out for over and over again (ridiculous surcharges, seat selection fees in Business Class, non-functioning website, non-functioning app, low quality food, dirty aircraft, ... I could go on and on) but that's not what I'm here to discuss.
The new best credit card(s) to use to earn American Airlines miles
Generally speaking, I'm not a big fan of airline co-branded credit cards because I find them to be remarkably unrewarding when it comes to the spending I'm encouraged to put on them, and I can almost always do better elsewhere.
Get up to 33% back on a Minor Hotels Group booking (targeted & great for European stays)
Amex is now targeting select card holders for a deal which may not look particularly interesting (because a lot of readers will probably have never heard of the hotel group in question), but which can be very useful if you're planning a trip to Europe and, to a lesser extent, useful if you're planning a trip to South America.
Review: Hyatt Place Kraków (a great base from which to explore the city)
A review of the Hyatt Place Kraków with a look inside a King bed room, a look at the hotel's location/transport links, and a look at the dining options on offer.
Boston will get the new SWISS A350 from January 2026 (new cabins expected to debut on this route)
We've known for a while that the SWISS A350 would probably debut on the Zurich - Boston route and this has now been confirmed, and we can now report what flights the new aircraft (complete with new interiors) will operate.
World of Hyatt targeted offers are back (check your account)
It looks like the World of Hyatt is back with another round of targeted promotions which are now appearing in member accounts. Hyatt doesn't appear to be sending out emails to inform members of the new promotions, so you'll have to login to see if you've been targeted.
American Airlines is now a Citi ThankYou Rewards transfer partner (oh no!)
A few years ago there was a small window of time during which Citi ThankYou points could be transferred across to American Airlines in a 1:1 ratio and since then, we've been wondering if Citi would ever make a American Airlines a full-time transfer partner. Well, the answer to that question started to drip feed out over the weekend.
How to pool Hilton Honors points (it’s free!)
Unlike most hotel loyalty programs, Hilton has allowed its members to pool points for several years. There's no fee to pool Hilton Honors points and up to 11 people can participate in the pooling, so this is something all Hilton Honors members should be aware of if they're to make the most of their account balances.
Now that the duct tape has been ripped off, will British Airways have a problem of its own making?
As I've discussed before, the decision to move to a revenue-based model has meant that earning British Airways mid-tier and top-tier elite status is now considerably more expensive than it was in the past, but the airline doesn't appear to have done anything to encourage its flyers to dig deeper into their pockets and to pay a lot more for what they were used to receiving.
Two excellent Hyatt elite benefits which often get overlooked
The elite benefits directly related to the World of Hyatt elite status may have become less impressive since Hyatt introduced its Milestone Rewards program, but Hyatt elite benefits can still be very useful, and two of the more useful elite benefits often get overlooked.
How the Marriott Bonvoy & Starbucks partnership works
Starbucks and Delta have had a loyalty partnership for almost three years, but it was only in June of 2024 that Starbucks launched a partnership with a hotel loyalty program.
That program was Marriott Bonvoy and the partnership with Bonvoy gave US Starbucks Rewards members and US Marriott Bonvoy members cross program earning opportunities for the first time.
Review: Andaz West Hollywood (once known as the Riot House)
Today, the Andaz West Hollywood looks a little different from its predecessors (the balconies have been incorporated into the building to make the rooms larger, for example), but it's still in the same location (which is very good), it continues to embrace its rock n' roll past (though its decor) and it's often one of the less expensive options in the area.
How to earn Avios when you fly with United Airlines
Generally speaking, it's usually pretty simple to figure out which airline loyalty programs you can credit your flights to without resorting to an in-depth Google search because most major airlines belong to one of the three global alliances (Star Alliance, oneworld, and SkyTeam).
Sometimes, however, there's an option that is less than obvious, and in this article we discuss one such option which can be very useful to know about.
The Thompson Hollywood is leaving Hyatt (what you can expect … possibly)
Back in October last year, we discovered that the Tommie Hollywood and, possibly, the Thompson Hollywood would be leaving Hyatt for pastures new. The Tommie jumped ship to Marriott soon after (no great loss), but the Thompson Hollywood has remained in place until now.
How to get 25% off stays at Waldorf Astoria, Conrad & LXR properties worldwide
Hilton has long offered a very good deal for cash bookings at some of its more high-end properties around the world, but the deal doesn't seem to get much coverage.
Where the "5th night free" deal on award nights gets discussed just about every time Hilton is selling points at a discount, the deal offering 25% off cash bookings at Waldorf Astoria, Conrad & LXR properties hardly gets mentioned, so we thought we'd do our bit to raise awareness of what can be a great deal.
JetBlue boosts Fort Lauderdale flying (more Mint flights this winter)
Coming on top of the ongoing 25 for 25 promotion, we we've seen JetBlue adding flights to Orlando, extending its Newark Los Angeles route, and launching a flash sale offering 25% off select bookings (ends today).
Now the airline has announced that it's adding new routes, bringing back old routes, adding more flights, and adding more Mint service out of its base in Fort Lauderdale.
American Airlines A321 Flagship Business Class review (JFK-LAX)
American Airlines operates a sub-fleet of A321 aircraft which it has configured especially for a select number of high-profile domestic routes on which there is strong demand for a premium product that's considerably better than what passes for 'First Class' on most domestic routes.
Four key reasons why Bonvoy points are better than Marriott Free Night Certificates
Over the past few years, when Chase and American Express have boosted the welcome bonuses on their Marriott co-branded cards, they have sometimes chosen to offer successful new applicants the chance to earn three or more Free Night Certificates instead of the more usual points bonanza.
With that trend seemingly here to stay, this seems like a good time to take a closer look at Marriott's Free Night Certificates and to show why they're are not as valuable or as useful as points.
Flash sale: Save 25% on select JetBlue flights with a promo code
In what appears to be a continuation of its 25th birthday celebrations, JetBlue is currently running a flash sale in which it's offering 25% off bookings made in the next two days for travel into November 2025.
Review: London Marriott Hotel Canary Wharf
A lot of my recent London hotel bookings have been for one-night stays, but for once, I had a two-night stay at the London Marriott Canary Wharf, and as this is a property I haven't reviewed for a few years, this was a good opportunity to take a refreshed look at what the property has to offer.
How to view a full year of Air France KLM Flying Blue award inventory
When it comes to searching for Air France KLM awards, it's really quite simple to quickly see when saver awards are available and to find dates on which those elusive great Business Class transatlantic fares can be booked, but because Flying Blue doesn't make it obvious how to check more than a few dates with just one search, we've pulled together this step-by-step guide to show how to easily view all the award availability on a single route for every date for which awards have been released.
World of Hyatt Free Night Awards – everything you need to know
All four major hotel chains in the miles & points world issue awards or certificates that allow the bearer to book a free night* at properties in their portfolio, but Hyatt's free night awards can be little more complicated than the awards issued by Marriott, IHG, and Hilton, so this article will, hopefully, clear up any confusion.
Delta Air Lines will launch a Los Angeles to Hong Kong route in 2026 (schedules now added)
It has been seven long years since Delta has offered flights to Hong Kong (the Seattle Hong-Kong route ended in October 2018), but now it looks like the airline is ready to give Hong Kong another go as it says that it will serve the special administrative region of China from Los Angeles starting in 2026.
Fantastic Etihad Business Class fares for Europe – Middle East/Asia
Etihad is currently promoting a global sale in which it's offering some significant discounts on Economy Class and Business Class fares across its network.
The premium cabin sale is only running for the next few days (the Economy Class sale runs into August) so there's not much time to procrastinate, but some of the round trip Business Class fares on offer for departures from select European cities are nothing short of fantastic (e.g. Phuket for ~€1,470, Doha from €1,409, and Mumbai from ~€1,347) so be ready to book if you see something that works for you.

Surprisingly quietly, Hyatt has released a much needed update to its website and app which allows World of Hyatt members to view a year's worth of award availability at most properties in its system.
It’s time the World of Hyatt credit card was given a refresh or replaced completely
When Chase unveiled the World of Hyatt credit card in 2018, it introduced it to replace an existing Hyatt credit card which, at the time, was coming up to its eighth birthday. Now, as the current World of Hyatt credit card moves into its eighth year of existence, it's time for Chase and Hyatt to act once again and to give the card a significant makeover or to put it out of its misery and issue something completely new.
Etihad has made a negative change to its schedule change policy
Etihad has recently pushed through a negative change to its policy which dictates the conditions under which it will permit customers to change their travel plans or request a refund following a change to the schedules.
Which key credit cards offer hotel elite status?
Frequent visitors to this site may have already seen our article coveringing hotel loyalty programs that offer lifetime elite status and our article that looks at whether or not lifetime elite status with hotel loyalty programs is a worthwhile thing to pursue, so a natural progression from those articles is to take a look at the credit cards that offer cardholders elite status with some of the major hotel chains as part of their overall package of benefits.
These are the four new IHG cash back deals from Chase [Targeted]
Chase is now running at least four new cash back deals for spending made at select IHG brands, and a little unusually for Chase, it looks like cardholders are being given a little more time than normal to trigger the savings on offer - they run through the middle of September.
Excellent referral offer on the Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express
The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express is one of the few cards that we consider a "must have" card for anyone playing the miles and points game so the fact that the referral bonus on this card has recently been boosted, makes this a good time for card holders to introduce this card to their friends and family.
Save at select MGM Resorts and Caesars Rewards properties with these 3 offers [Targeted]
There appear to be three new targeted offers doing the rounds right now which are offering savings at MGM and Caesars establishments across the United States. How to get a fourth or fifth night free on award bookings
Three of the major miles & points hotel programs give their members a fourth or fifth night free when they book a points stay of four or five nights, but the way these free nights work and the way you can access these free nights differs from program to program, and this can be confusing. What follows should, hopefully, clear things up.
Which major hotel loyalty programs offer Lifetime Elite status?
Hotel elite status can be both vastly overrated and extremely useful depending on which status level and which hotel program we're discussing, and people's opinions can vary quite significantly. But, as a rule, having status is better than not having status, so people will go to varying degrees of effort to maintain their hotel privileges from year to year.
Save $100 on Delta bookings with this Amex offer [targeted]
Amex has launched a new targeted offer for select cardholders in which it's offering a $100 rebate (up to two times) on spending made with Delta Air Lines by the middle of October. Hilton, apparently, doesn't want to play ball as the sale that it's currently running for properties in Europe, Africa & Middle East is offering a maximum of 20% off and on weekend stays only.
