I'm incredibly lucky to be able to fly around the world in relative comfort courtesy of the miles and points hobby (and a lot of hard work) but sometimes I go through phases where the last thing I want to do is to get on another plane.
JetBlue has given the Economy Class cabin in its Airbus A320 aircraft a makeover and the first aircraft fitted with the new cabin is now in service. With airlines increasingly densifying their Economy Class cabins at the expense of passengers' personal space it's interesting to see what path JetBlue has taken.
IHG has launched a 5-day flash sale on select properties in the UK and Ireland. With IHG also currently running its Free Nights Faster promotion which is offering a minimum of 40,000 bonus points, this flash sale could be a useful tool to help you earn the bonus(es) on offer while keeping costs low.
At the beginning of every month Flying Blue (the loyalty program for Air France/KLM) releases discounted mileage awards for Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class travel on Air France and KLM. These "Promo Awards" are advertised as offering "up to 50% off" award travel but, while some awards may be discounted by 50%, nowadays we're more used to seeing discounts of around 25% on the awards most would like to book.
Singapore Airlines launched its HighFlyer program for SMEs back in the summer of 2017 with the aim of giving small businesses an incentive to book with the airline without taking away mileage earning from the people actually doing the flying. If there is one thing that I like most about Qantas it's that it can do airport lounges very well when it puts it's mind to it. The First Class lounge in Sydney is fantastic, the Qantas First Class lounge at LAX is my favorite lounge in the US and I can't wait for the new Qantas lounge to open at London Heathrow Terminal 3 next year. All this is why I was particularly interested to see what Qantas would be offering at its new Brisbane International Lounge which opened its doors yesterday.
Following last week's announcement that Etihad will be increasing service to Dallas/Ft Worth the airline has now announced that it will be decreasing service to San Francisco from early next year. Etihad will reduce it's daily service between Abu Dhabi and San Francisco to just 3 flights per week and this may go some way to expelling where the airline is getting the aircraft to operate the extra flights to Dallas/Ft Worth.
