Finnair Plus

Finnair Plus is now running an Avios sale in which it's offering discounts of up to 40% for Avios purchases made through 30 March and, as usual, you'll find that the price you'll pay per Avios varies depending on the number of Avios you buy. Unlike some other Avios sales, however, the price won't vary depending on where your Finnair Plus account is based, and for some people, there may be a good deal here.

Some of the more surprising discoveries that I've made within the Finnair rules are the  rules surrounding baggage allowances, so I thought I'd share four of the rules that, to me, make Finnair stand out from a number of other oneworld airlines.

There are various rules surrounding how many Finnair Tier Points you can buy and how often you can buy them, so I've covered these below, and because it's isn't immediately obvious how to go about buying Tier Points with your Avios balance, I've included a very basic step-by-step guide to buying Finnair Tier Points with Avios.

Finnair has just launched an interesting new Black Friday Avios sale which could be more useful than usual. The airline has taken one of its standard "buy Avios and get a bonus" deals and added to it an extra element - you'll earn Tier points towards elite status on top of whatever Avios you buy.

With Finnair now using Avios as its loyalty currency, there will come a time for most serious Avios collectors when it will be useful to be able to move Avios to/from a Finnair Plus account to/from another Avios account (e.g. to make the most of an award chart sweet spot).
