There is, however, one slight issue. There's a glitch in every World of Hyatt property's award calendar and it's a glitch that may be costing some people the chance to lock in awards are some of the more in demand properties.
A little under a year ago (it seems longer), Hyatt upgraded the award calendars attached to each property in the World of Hyatt system.
Where the award calendars once showed the cost in points of an award night on every date within the booking window, the upgrade changed the calendars so that now, they only show the cost of an award on days on which awards are available.
For anyone searching for World of Hyatt award availability, last year’s upgrade has been a godsend as it has never been easier or quicker to find award space at any World of Hyatt property.
There is, however, one slight issue. There’s a glitch in every World of Hyatt property’s award calendar and it’s a glitch that may be costing some people the chance to lock in awards at some of the more in demand properties.
A quick recap
For the benefit of any readers who are relatively new to the World of Hyatt, here’s a quick recap to show you how and where to find each property’s award calendar.
The key to finding the award availability calendar is to make sure that you perform an award search (and not a regular search) on the Hyatt website.
If you don’t select the “use points” option when performing the search, the points calendar will not show up.

Once you perform the award search, your results will probably look something like this:

From these results, click the “view rates” button next to the property you’re interested in and you should see a page displaying the points cost of the available rooms on your chosen date and, towards the top, there should be a small link to the property’s award availability calendar or “points calendar”.

Clicking on the link opens up the points calendar and at this particular property, this is what it looks like for June 2026:

That’s great. You can see the cost of the cheapest award night on every date in June and because all the dates show a points price, we can tell that award bookings are available on every day of the month.
But now we come to the issue.
The glitch
Unlike Hilton, Marriott, and IHG, most World of Hyatt properties release award space 13 months out (the other chains release most awards around 12 months out), but if you’re someone who relies solely on the award availability calendars to find award space, you may not realise this.
Why? Because none of the award availability calendars will show that a property has availability past next year’s “version” of the month we’re currently in even if awards are available.
So what does this look like?
Well … if, for example, I open up the award calendar for the Park Hyatt Milan right now, I’m able to view award availability all the way up to and including May 2027 (next year’s version of the month we’re currently in).

If, however, I click forward one month to view the award availability in June 2027, this is what I see:

Apparently, as of right now, there’s no award availability whatsoever at the Park Hyatt Milan in June 2027.
But that’s not true, because there is.
If you ignore what the award calendar is showing you and perform a standard award search for dates in June 2027, you’ll find that there’s no problem finding awards through, as of today, 16 June. Come tomorrow, 17 June 2027 will open up.
Here’s a 1-night booking for 8-9 June 2027.

Here’s a 3-night booking for 1-4 June 2027.

And here’s a booking for a whole week in June 2027.

As far as I can tell, this glitch occurs on every single award availability calendar on the Hyatt website.
To be clear, this isn’t phantom inventory. I know because I’ve currently got multiple bookings locked in at Hyatt properties for next year and more than one of those bookings was made on dates where the award availability calendars indicated that no award bookings were available.
It’s also not inventory that’s reserved for Hyatt Globalists. I hold Hyatt Globalist status, but all the screenshots that you see in this article were taken while logged in to an account of someone who holds no Hyatt status at all.
The fact is that this June 2027 inventory is very real and available to all World of Hyatt members, but if you were to rely on the award availability calendars to find it, you’d never know that it was there.
Bottom line
The World of Hyatt award availability calendars have a glitch and it’s a glitch that means that if you’re relying solely on these calendars to find award availability towards the end of Hyatt’s 13 month booking period, you may be fooled into believing that awards are not available when they are.
For most of Hyatt’s properties, this probably isn’t going to be an big issue, but for high-demand properties like the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome (review), the Andaz Maui, or the Alila Ventana Big Sur, knowing about this glitch could mean the difference between snapping up a award and missing out.
