Qatar Airways is back with another promotion in which it’s offering Privilege Club members a bonus when they convert various banking and loyalty program currencies into Avios. While this isn’t quite as good as the offer we saw in September last year (where a 40% bonus was offered), this may still be a good opportunity to boost your Avios balance if you have an award booking that you need to make.
Remember: As usual, this isn’t a Citi offer, so you will not see this offer on Citi.com or on the Citi ThankYou site. This is a Qatar Airways offer so the bonus points will be awarded by the airline and not by the bank.
What you need to know
In this promotion, there’s no minimum number of points that you have to transfer into Qatar Privilege Club to lock in the 30% bonus rate – all transfers will earn the bonus.
The Qatar Airways Privilege Club is free to join (here)
- This promotion ends on 30th June 2026, 23:59hrs (GMT+3).
- This campaign is open to all Privilege Club Members who are also customers of Participating Partners and have Rewards Points.
- Privilege Club Members will earn bonus Avios on converting Rewards Points into Avios.
- The bonus Avios awarded will be 30% of the number of base Avios converted in a single transaction.
- The bonus Avios will be calculated per transaction and not on the cumulative sum of
- Avios converted from Rewards Points during the Campaign Period, accumulated transactions don’t qualify.
- The conversion of Rewards Points to Avios is subject to the conversion ratio and terms and conditions set forth by the relevant Participating Partner.
- Bonus Avios will be credited as per the transaction date notified by the relevant Participating Partner to Qatar Airways Privilege Club.
Multiple banking currencies from around the world and a number of other loyalty programs are participating in this promotion, but for US readers, the key transfer partner here is Citi (transfers from the World of Hyatt represent very poor value).
All of the participating partners are:
Ahlibank, Aljazira Bank, ALL Accor, AlRayan Bank, Bank Albilad, Boubyan Bank, BSF Jana, Capital on Tap, CIMB, Citibank, Commercial Bank, Doha Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, Dukhan Bank, Emirates Islamic, FlyerT, HeyMax, HSBC, Hyundai Amex Centurion Design Cards, ICSAB+, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Kuwait Finance House, Mashreq Vantage, mokafaa, National Bank of Oman, Ooredoo, PartsPay, pay.com.au, QIIB, Shangri-La Circle, Signature Business Rewards, Symbion Elite Rewards, UnionBank, UOB, Vodafone Qatar, WalaOne and World of Hyatt.
- Citi ThankYou Points transfer over to the Qatar Airways Privilege Club in a ratio of 1:1.
- Other banking and loyalty currencies may transfer across in different ratios.
Importantly, although transfers between Citi and Qatar Airways are instantaneous, the bonus points that are awarded by Qatar Airways may not appear in your Privilege Club until 31 July 2026, so if you’re relying on the bonus to make an imminent booking, you may be out of luck.
Keep in mind that Qatar Airways Avios can be easily transferred across to British Airways and from there, they can be moved to other Avios using programs such as Finnair Plus, Iberia Plus, and Aer Lingus Aerclub, so any Citi ThankYou Points that are transferred over can be used to book whatever good value awards any of these programs offer.
Bottom line
Qatar Airways is offering a bonus of 30% for transfers of various banking and loyalty currencies to the Qatar Airways Privilege Club. In the United States, Citi is the major Qatar Airways partner and with ThankYou points readily available through cards like the Citi Premier® Card and the Citi® Double Cash Credit Card, there should be quite a few people for whom this promotion offers a good chance to boost an Avios balance.
