Marriott has announced that it has plans to nearly double the number of St. Regis Resorts in its portfolio by 2025. The hotelier has confirmed that it will add a total of eleven new resorts to its existing fifteen St Regis Resorts in the course of the next four years as it looks to expand its high-end offering.

Upcoming New St Regis Resorts

George Fleck, Vice President and Global Brand Leader for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts has had this to say about Marriott’s plans for new St Regis Resorts around the world:

“This is a pivotal moment for St. Regis as we expect to nearly double our existing resort portfolio by 2025. Our resorts offer a leisure experience inspired by the glamorous private retreats of St. Regis’ founding family, the Astors, and we cannot wait to bring the brand’s spirit of invention and cherished traditions to some of the world’s most beguiling destinations. From Los Cabos to Sanya, and Marrakech to the Riviera Maya, we are thoughtfully expanding the brand while marking a commitment to providing extraordinary resort experiences in the places where we know global luminaries want to travel.”

Interestingly, while Marriott has been clear in saying that eleven new St Regis Resorts are in the pipeline, the information that we’ve seen only names eight new properties so there are another three properties to be accounted for. I’ll update this post when the locations of those three missing properties come to light.

Mexico gets two new properties in the next two years

The St. Regis Kanai Resort is expected to open on Mexico’s Mayan Rivier in 2022 and Mexico will be getting a second new St Regis property when The St. Regis Los Cabos Resort opens in 2023.

The St. Regis Kanai Resort will feature “breathtaking ocean views” from every vantage point, with plans that include 124 guest rooms and suites, as well as 32 exclusive villas with private pools.

The St. Regis Los Cabos Resort will be spread across 33 acres in Quivira, Los Cabos, and will offer 120 rooms, 60 residences, a spa, a golf course, a beach club, three distinctive dining experiences, and 1,200 ft. of panoramic coastal views.

The Middle East will get a second St Regis Resort next year

Next year will see Marriott opening The St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island, The Pearl, in Qatar which, we’re told, will feature architecture influenced by the distinct Andalusian and Arabesque style and offer stunning views of the Arabian Gulf. The current schedule suggests that the property will open in September 2022 which will be in time for the soccer World Cup which is being held in Qatar next December.

Looking further ahead

In 2024 St. Regis is expected to debut in Aruba with The St. Regis Aruba Palm Beach Resort, as well as in the Dominican Republic with The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort.

In the same year, Marriott plans to open The St. Regis Al Mouj Resort in Muscat, Oman, as well as The St. Regis Sanya Haitang Bay Resort in Sanya, Hainan’s most southern tip (this will be the second St Regis property in Sanya)

Lastly, Africa should get its first St Regis Resort in 2025 when The St. Regis Marrakech Resort debuts in Morocco.
