After multiple delays spanning years rather than months, Marriott is now just a few months away from introducing its luxury St. Regis brand to the UK with the opening of The St. Regis London this fall.

After multiple delays spanning years rather than months, Marriott is now just a few months away from introducing its luxury St. Regis brand to the UK with the opening of The St. Regis London this fall.

The property is currently undergoing the final stages of a comprehensive transformation and we have finally been given a month in which we can expect the St. Regis London to open.

Location & opening

The St. Regis London occupies a prominent position in the heart of London at the intersection of Bond Street and Conduit Street towards the eastern edge of the city’s Mayfair district.

Google maps hasn’t yet added the St. Regis name to its location.

This puts it on the doorstep of some of London’s most expensive stores as well as within easy reach of a lot of the city’s major sights.

Before its current redevelopment, the building that the St. Regis London now occupies was the location of the Westbury Mayfair Hotel which closed its doors during the global pandemic.

The initial management agreement for the St. Regis London was announced back in February 2022 and while initial project estimates set the opening for 2024, that was quickly pushed back to 2025 and then “spring 2026”.

Well, spring 2026 has come and gone and the doors to the St. Regis remain firmly closed, but the Marriott website has now been updated to show that hope is on the horizon with the property finally expected to open in October.

Bookings have not yet opened so we can’t see what prices will start at, but we can probably expect to see some movement on that front within the next couple of months.

Rooms and suites

The hotel is set to open with 193 guest rooms of which 66 will be suites.

The interior spaces have been designed by Richmond International which has noted that the interior visual concept draws direct inspiration from the unique characteristics of the Mayfair neighborhood, referencing elements from the bespoke tailoring of Savile Row, the styling of nearby fashion boutiques, and the legacy of the famous auction rooms in the local area.

Among the specific luxury accommodations, the property features a top-tier Penthouse Suite. This specific suite includes a 150-square-meter private terrace and offers 360-degree panoramic views extending across the London skyline.

The hotel will also feature two exclusive wellness suites that will be distinct from the standard rooms and which will, apparently, feature private plunge pools and saunas.

Dining and bars

The St. Regis London is set to have with multiple dining and drinking venues although if past major openings are anything to go by, all are not likely to be ready by the time the St Regis opens its doors for the first time. A staggered rollout is likely.

The main restaurant will be Le Perroquet, an all-day French brasserie managed by Chef Daniel Rose.

This will mark the chef’s first venture in London following his prior career milestones at La Bourse et La Vie in Paris and the Michelin-starred Le Coucou in New York City.

We’re told that the St Regis is also developing a separate signature restaurant which will be overseen by Robert Aikens, the hotel’s executive head chef, but we don’t have any further details on this right now.

For beverage options, the hotel is preserving the building’s historic Polo Bar (which promises to serve a “local interpretation” of the traditional St. Regis Bloody Mary) as well as a Library Lounge …

… and a late-night jazz bar.

Bottom line

The transition of the former Westbury Mayfair into The St. Regis London is entering its final months with the renovated property expected to open in October 2026.

With a central London location, 193 rooms (including 66 suites), dining options from Chef Daniel Rose and Robert Aikens, and a very, very expensive renovation, the St. Regis London will represent a very welcome and much needed addition to Marriott’s luxury options in the UK, now we just need to wait and see how painfully expensive this property will be 🙂
