Hilton has announced the opening of the WB Abu Dhabi which is the first Warner Bros. themed property in the world. The property has joined Hilton’s Curio Collection and is located just steps away from Hilton’s Doubletree and Warner Bros World and a very short walk from Waterworld on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island.
The WB Abu Dhabi Curio Collection by Hilton
The WB Abu Dhabi is located on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island and is the first-ever Warner Bros. themed hotel.
Hilton has said that the property allows guests to see their favorite stories and characters brought to life through “unique hospitality experiences” from the “rich history and storied legacy of Warner Bros.”.
In practice, this means that the WB Abu Dhabi features over 400 images and props from famous Warner Bros TV shows, movies, and cartoons, with the “Friends” fountain and the Batmobile from the upcoming new Batman movie being just two examples of what guests will find on site.
The lobby is home to a “Living Archive” spiral staircase which houses “an evolving collection of items dedicated to the history of WB’s role in entertainment” and which showcases a mixture of original movies and props such as the cowboy boots worn by James Dean in the movie “Giant,” the cowl Michael Keaton wore in “Batman,” and an original drawing from “The Great Gatsby”.
The Warner Bros theme continues in all five of the hotel’s eateries (where the music is supplied by the piano from “Westworld”) and in the corridors leading to the property’s 257 guestrooms.
Within the guestrooms themselves, three themes have inspired the artwork. The first theme, “From Script to Screen,” highlights standout moments from Warner Bros.’ movies and shows and documents the journey from the written page to the final shot. The second theme, “Artist Confidential,” celebrates a variety of talent in front of and behind the camera in some of Warner Bros’ favorite productions. The third theme, “The Vault” features rarely seen images from Warner Bros.’ most memorable archives.
To go along with the WB Abu Dhabi’s design, guests can make the most of a broad range of food and beverage offerings across the property’s five eateries.
- Craft Services, located in the lobby lounge, offers a relaxing area to enjoy a coffee after a busy day
- Sidekicks is described as a family-friendly place for socializing and interacting while enjoying a flavorful international menu.
- The Matinee provides a casual dining option for guests at the pool and offers a dive-in pool theatre and Mediterranean menu.
- The Director’s Club is the property’s high-end restaurant offering “a sophisticated meatery with charcoal ovens, perfectly aged cuts, and a menu selection of dishes serving the mature palate”.
- The Overlook is a lounge with an infinity pool and 360-degree city, theme park, and sea views.
On the amenities side of things, the WB Abu Dhabi offers the usual mix of a main pool, a family pool, a fitness center, and a spa as well as a WB themed Kids Club where children can interact with some of WB’s famous characters such as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck.
The WB Abu Dhabi is located adjacent to Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi, the self-styled “world’s largest indoor theme park” featuring six immersive lands, including DC’s Metropolis and Gotham City, Cartoon Junction, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch, and Warner Bros. Plaza, along with 29 state-of-the-art exhilarating rides, interactive family-friendly attractions, and live entertainment.
All registered guests get access to the park as well as other Yas Island attractions for the duration of their stay.
Hilton Honors
As you’d expect, the WB Abu Dhabi participates in the Hilton Honors program and if current pricing is anything to go by, this will be a popular option for families.
At the time of writing, 5-night stays in some of the busiest months of the year can be booked by anyone from just 50,000 points/night/room.
If you have Hilton Honors status, a 5-night stay would cost just 200,000 points because you’d get the 5th night free.
To be fair, this isn’t an expensive property to book with cash – a 5-night stay over New Year would cost AED 5,217/$1,420 – but if you’re getting a 5th night free when you book with points, you’re still getting over 0.7 cents of value out of each point used and that’s pretty good.
Bottom line
The first Warner Bros hotel has opened on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi and has joined Hilton’s Curio Collection. Thanks to its theme and location, this should be a popular property for families, and the fact that award bookings for entry-level rooms appear to be very reasonably priced (at least for now), will probably make it quite popular with a lot of Hilton Honors members too.

Interesting. I like the idea although I think they might have taken it a bit further on theme rooms or suites. I’d love to stay in an Animaniacs suite, for instance.
You never know, you may be in luck. There don’t seem to be very many images of the rooms so there may be one or two suites that we haven’t seen yet and which are completely dedicated to a particular WB brand/movie/franchise.
