Iberia is currently running a Valentine’s Day promotion in which it’s selling its gift cards with between 5% to 10% off face value (the greater the value of the gift card, the greater the discount). The sale will run for a few more days and may be useful if you’re planning to book flights with Iberia or one of its two subsidiaries … but make sure you pay close attention to the terms and conditions.
Iberia’s gift card sale
- Buy a €50 gift card and get 5% off
- Buy a €100 gift card and get 6% off
- Buy a €300 gift card and get 8% off
- Buy a €500+ gift card and get 10% off
A single gift card cannot exceed €3,000 in value.
Key terms

Quick thoughts
These discounted gift cards can be a useful tool to help save on a future booking, but there are a lot of important restrictions within the terms and conditions which can make effective use of these gift cards a little tricky.
The most obvious restrictions to note are the one that limits the use of these gift cards to flights operated by Iberia (main line), Iberia Express, and Iberia Regional Air Nostrum, and the one that says that bookings made with the gift cards have to be completed within one year of the gift card’s purchase date.
These terms rule out the use of Iberia’s discounted gift cards on codeshares and rule out the possibility of sitting on the gift cards until an opportune moment to use them presents itself.
Also, given that only one gift card can be used per booking and given that we don’t appear to have been told the conditions required to combine multiple gift cards into one, this is a sale that should be approached with caution.
If you have an Iberia booking planned and are ready to hand over payment, buying a gift card in this sale to reduce the cost of your trip would appear to make sense. If you’re still considering your options, however, this is probably a sale to avoid as expiring gift cards which have restricted use are not a sensible thing to hold.
Bottom line
Through 17 February 2025, Iberia is selling gift cards with a discount of up to 10%, but while a gift card purchased in this sale can help you save on a future trip, the terms and conditions associated with these gift cards mean that no one should be buying them speculatively.
