The Dr of Credit blog has reported that, from 13 December 2017, it will no longer be possible to transfer Citi ThankYou points to Hilton Honors so, if you were planning on moving points across you have a little over a month to do so.

This isn’t a very big deal to me as I never used my ThankYou points to boost my Hilton Honors balance anyway but it does now leave Citi without a single hotel transfer partner.

A little over a month ago I wrote in greater detail about Citi’s transfer partners but, as a recap, these are the loyalty programs you can still transfer ThankYou points too (they’re all airlines):

Citi ThankYou Transfer Partners

If you want some ideas on how to boost your Citi ThankYou points balance you should take a look at this post here.

You can also check out my post on Chase Ultimate Rewards’ transfer partners as well as my post on the Amex Membership rewards transfer partners to give you an idea of how many partners the other two main bank currencies offer.

Bottom Line

Losing Hilton as a Citi ThankYou transfer partner isn’t a major issue for me as I much prefer using my points to transfer over to Etihad Guest (where I can book AAdvantage awards at their old rate) or to the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program where I use the points to book the airline’s First Class suites.

If, unlike me, you are affected by this change then some solace may be found in the fact that you can still transfer American Express Membership Rewards points to Hilton at a rate of 1 : 1.5 (the same rate at which Citi ThankYou points transfer over).
