Following on from the good Amazon.com offer we wrote about earlier, another targeted Amex offer has caught our eye, but this one is a little more niche. It's for stays at select Best Western and SureStay hotels in the United States and Canada.

Quick thoughts

The key bit of bad news here is that this targeted offer is limited to properties in the US and Canada, so that rules out Best Western properties in all other parts of the world.

A second bit of (slightly less important) bad news, is that a number of specific properties appear to be excluded from this promotion so not all stays at BW/SS properties in the US & Canada will trigger the rebate.

Still, as has been the case with Amex offers for some time, at least the terms and conditions say that the spending required to trigger the rebate doesn’t need to be made in a single transaction, so there’s no pressing need for a cardholder to hit the $250 target with a single booking.

That should make this a more useable offer than it otherwise may have been.

It’s also worth noting that we can see that this offer has been targeted to all of our Membership Rewards cards (consumer and business), so this is clearly an offer that is being widely ‘targeted’.

Unfortunately, Amex doesn’t issue any Best Western co-branded credit cards so, overall, the best card to use with this offer will probably be the American Express® Green Card which returns 3 points/dollar on travel spending (terms apply).

If you don’t have the Amex Green card, your next best option will probably be the Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express (it earns 2 points/dollar on the first $50,000 of spending every year and 1 point/dollar thereafter – terms apply), but as this card charges foreign transaction fees, you should avoid using it for stays outside of the US.

Note: All information about the American Express® Green Card has been collected independently by Traveling For Miles. The American Express® Green Card is not currently available through Traveling For Miles.

Bottom Line

Amex has launched a new targeted offer for stays made at select Best Western and SureStay properties in the United States and Canada through the end of August 2026.

Make sure you read the terms and conditions of your targeted offer carefully before making any bookings as there are a number of exclusions you should note and, where possible, make sure you add the offer to a credit card that will earn you bonus points for travel bookings to ensure that you maximize your earnings.
