Qatar Airways has been deploying its QSuite Business Class cabin on an ever-increasing number of routes and recently that route list got a little longer when the airline scheduled QSuite service to Los Angeles and Boston….now this list has got longer still.

TPG has reported that Qatar Airways has scheduled a QSuite-equipped A350 to operate  to/from Philadelphia this summer but, before you rush to book awards, be aware that the QSuites cabin won’t be available every day from first day it’s offered.

Right now ExpertFlyer is showing that Qatar Airways has scheduled a QSuite equipped Airbus A350-900 to operate on the Doha – Philadelphia route from 1 June 2019a screenshot of a computer

…but the QSuites currently appear to only be available every other day through 12 June, at which point the QSuites become available daily.

Note: The first departure from Philadelphia to offer the QSuite cabin (per ExpertFlyer) is on 2 June 2019.

Here’s the schedule for the route:

QR727 DOH 07:55 – 14:55 PHL
QR728 PHL 21:00 – 16:40+1 day DOH

The good news here is that Qatar Airways has scheduled the QSuite-equipped aircraft to operate to/from Philadelphia through to the end of the current booking period (beginning of February 2020) so there’s no need to wait for another schedule update to see if the QSuites will operate on this route next winter.

Award Bookings

The best currency to use when booking Qatar Airways flights is probably American’s AAdvantage miles and a round trip fare between Philadelphia and Doha will cost 140,000 miles (70,000 miles one-way).

Right now award availability on this route is looking pretty thin but, if you plan to see what’s available, I suggest using the British Airways site to search as AA.com is known to serve up quite a bit of phantom availability for Qatar Airways redemptions.

Please bear in mind that there hasn’t been any formal announcement from Qatar Airways to let us know that the flights to/from Philadelphia are being upgraded to offer QSuites so changes to the aircraft being employed are possible but, based on what we’ve seen on a lot of other routes which now operate with QSuites Business Class, this doesn’t mean all that much – Qatar Airways hasn’t bothered to announce the introduction of QSuites Business Class on at least half the routes on which it now offers the product.
