Update 17 January 2020 – Manchester (UK) gets Qsuite Service

The question of which routes Qatar Airways operates aircraft offering the new QSuites in the Business Class cabin seems to be one I get asked on a daily basis so, rather than answering the same email question over and over again, I thought I’d put together a post of all the information we have right now – This information will be updated if/when it changes.

Note: If Qatar Airways puts through an aircraft change that does not add or remove QSuite availability on a given flight/route this will not be reflected below.

Summary As At 17 January 2020

Spotting An Aircraft With The Qatar Airways QSuite

More and more of Qatar Airways’ Boeing 777-300ER aircraft now offer the new QSuite Business Class product as well as most 777-200LRs, numerous A350-900s and all of the airline’s new Airbus A350-1000.

The way you can tell if an aircraft you’re considering booking (or one that you’ve booked already) has the QSuite Business Class cabin is from the seat map.

I use ExpertFlyer to check the seat maps of all the flights I book and here is what you need to look out for:

If the seat map of the 777 (for example) is showing a 2-2-2 cabin layout like this….

a screenshot of a computer game

…you’re looking at an older model Business Class cabin and NOT the QSuite cabin.

If, on the other hand, the seat map is showing a 1-2-1 cabin layout, like this…

a table with chairs and a cross

…then you’ve hit the jackpot and you’re looking at one of the best Business Class cabins currently on offer – the Qsuite cabin.

The A350-900 and 777-200LR Business Class cabins will also look very similar to the image above if they offer the Qsuite product.

On What Routes Does Qatar Airways Offer The QSuite Business Class Cabin?

In alphabetical order:

Adelaide (ADL)

Qatar Airways has scheduled a QSuite equipped Airbus A350-900 to operate its daily service between Doha and Adelaide from 15 August 2019 (first QSuite service out of Adelaide will be on 16 August).

Here’s the currently published schedule:

QR914 DOH 20:35 – 16:20+1 day ADL (Daily)
QR915 ADL 22:15 – 05:30+1 day DOH (Daily)

As things stand the Doha – Adelaide route is scheduled to offer the Qsuite Business Class cabin through to the end of the current booking period.

Atlanta (ATL)

a city with buildings and a ferris wheel

Atlanta has seen Qsuites service before but only infrequently and only on seemingly random dates so it’s great to see that a recent schedule change now means that the Doha – Atlanta route will be operated by a Qsuite-equipped Boeing 777-200LR from 1 May 2020 on the following schedule:

QR755 DOH 08:05 – 16:20 ATL (Daily)
QR756 ATL 19:45 – 16:25+1 day DOH (Daily)

The Qsuite-equipped aircraft is currently scheduled to operate the Doha – Atlanta route though to the end of the current booking period and with Atlanta being the home of Delta (no friend of Qatar Airways!) I don’t see Qsuites service being taken off this route any time soon.

Auckland (AKL)

Auckland SkyCity

On 15 May 2019 Qatar Airways flew a QSuite equipped 777-200LR between Doha and Auckland for the first time and the Qsuite equipped aircraft then reappeared on the route on alternate days through 31 May.

Since 1 June 2019  Qatar Airways has been offering QSuites daily between Doha and Auckland on the following schedule:

QR920 DOH 03:01 – 04:45+1 day AKL (Daily)
QR931 AKL 14:25 – 23:05 DOH (Daily)

Amsterdam (AMS)

a brick path with trees and buildings on the side

Without so much as a hint that it will be adding its Qsuites Business Class cabin to another European route Qatar Airways scheduled a refurbished Boeing 777 to operate the Doha – Amsterdam route from 1 October 2018.

Qatar Airways operates a single daily flight between Doha and Amsterdam on the following schedule….

QR273 DOH 08:00 – 13:20 AMS (Daily)
QR274 AMS 15:15 – 23:35 DOH (Daily)

….and, unlike with a number of Qatar Airways routes, this route is scheduled to offer the Qsuite Business Class cabin through to the end of the current booking period.

Bangalore (BLR)

It’s not clear when Qatar Airways started offering a regular Qsuite service between Doha and Bangalore but that’s what’s in place right now on the following schedule:

QR572 DOH 19:30 – 02:20+1 day BLR
QR573 BLR 03:45 – 05:40 DOH

Initially, the service was scheduled to end on 27 October 2018 but the Qsuite-equipped aircraft is now set to operate this route for the foreseeable future.

Bangkok (BKK)

a group of pagodas in front of a white building with Wat Pho in the background

Qatar Airways is currently offering its Qsuite Business Class cabin on one of its numerous flights between Doha and Bangkok.

Flights QR830/831 are offering the Qsuite Business Class cabin on the following schedule:

QR830 DOH 20:05 – 07:05+1 day BKK
QR831 BKK 09:05 – 11:50 DOH

These flights were due to see the end of Qsuite service towards the end of March 2019 but a recent schedule update has seen Qsuite service extended through the end of the currently published schedule.

Berlin (TXL)

As has become the norm with Qatar Airways the airline didn’t actually announce the introduction of Qsuite equipped aircraft on the Doha- Berlin route but the Qsuite cabin is definitely available for the foreseeable future.

Here’s the schedule at the time of writing:

QR81 DOH 07:45 – 12:15 TXL (Tue, Thu & Sat)
QR77 DOH 15:40 – 20:10 TXL (Mon, Wed, Fri & Sun)

QR82 TXL 16:40 – 00:35+1 day DOH (Tue, Thu & Sat)
QR78 TXL 22:00 – 05:55+1 day DOH (Mon, Wed, Fri & Sun)

This route is served by a reconfigured 777-300ER and the aircraft appears to offer a slimmed down version of the Qsuite cabin.

Here’s what the 777-300ER Berlin Qsuite cabin looks like on ExpertFlyer….

a screenshot of a computer

…and here’s the seat map for the 777-300ER Business Class cabin operating to Frankfurt.

Still, a small Qsuite Business Class cabin is better than no Qsuite Business Class cabin but it will be interesting to see what other routes get the smaller cabin treatment.

Boston (BOS)

Delta New Boston Services

Qatar Airways has been operating a Qsuite equipped Boeing 777-300ER on the Doha-Boston route since 31 March 2019 on the following schedule:

QR743 DOH 08:15 – 14:10 BOS
QR744 BOS 23:05 – 18:05+1 day DOH

As things stand the Qsuite equipped 777 is scheduled to operate on the route through to the end of the current booking period.

Buenos Aires (EZE)

Qatar Airways offers a daily service between Doha and Buenos Aires with a stopover in Sao Paulo along the way. Qatar Airways uses a 777-200LR aircraft on this route and, since 7 December 2018, Qatar Airways has offered a Qsuite cabin on every flight.

QR773 DOH 07:20 – 18:20 GRU 19:30 – 21:20 EZE (Daily)
QR774 EZE 22:40 – 02:10+1 day GRU 03:40 – 23:55 DOH (Daily)

As things stand this route is set to keep the Qsuite Business Class cabin for the foreseeable future.

Cape Town (CPT)

As things stand, Qatar Airways offers 7 weekly flights between Doha and Cape Town and it will be increasing the number of flights to 10 from 27 October.

The daily flight between Doha and Cape Town is currently operated by an Airbus A350-900 and the planned second flight (3x/week) will be operated by a Boeing 787-8.

Neither of these aircraft offers the Qatar Airways Qsuite Business Class cabin but, thanks to an aircraft swap scheduled for later this year, that’s going to change.

From 17 November 2019 Qatar Airways will be replacing the A350-900 which operates its daily service to Cape Town with a larger Airbus A350-1000 and, as all of the airline’s A350-1000s offer the Qsuite cabin, this swap guarantees Cape Town flyers the airline’s top Business Class product.

Here’s the schedule from 17 November:

QR1369 DOH 02:05 – 11:20 CPT (Daily)*
QR1371 DOH 07:50 – 17:05 CPT (Wed, Fri & Sun)

QR1370 CPT 13:15 – 00:25+1 day DOH (Daily)*
QR1372 CPT 18:50 – 06:00+1 day DOH (Wed, Fri & Sun)

*A350-1000 service with Qsuites

For the time being, the A350-1000 is only scheduled to operate on this route though to 28 Mach 2020 but, as that merely signifies the end of the winter season, there’s every chance that the Qsuites service will be extended once Qatar Airways updates its summer 2020 schedules.

Chicago (ORD)

a flag flying in front of a city

Chicago has been added as a Qsuite route without any fanfare (or even any announcement) – the new seat map just appeared on the route.

From 1 April 2018 the Qatar Airways 777 which operates the daily Doha – Chicago O’Hare route has offered the Qsuite Business Class product since 1 April 2018 and, as things stand, the schedule looks like this:

QR725 DOH 07:35 – 13:40 ORD (Daily)
QR726 ORD 18:50 – 16:00+1 day DOH (Daily)

As things stand this route is set to keep the Qsuite Business Class cabin for the foreseeable future.

Colombo (CMB)

Qatar Airways is discontinuing Qsuite service to/from Colombo from 2 July 2019.

Copenhagen (CPH)

a water way with boats and buildings in the background

Things are far from simple on the Doha – Copenhagen route.

With Winter Season just around the corner (from 28 October) this is what the schedule looks like:

QR161 DOH 01:35 – 06:20 CPH (Daily)*
QR159 DOH 08:00 – 12:45 CPH (Mon, Wed, Fri & Sun)**
QR163 DOH 15:35 – 20:20 CPH (Daily)***

QR162 CPH 08:25 – 16:35 DOH (Daily 777 service)*
QR160 CPH 15:25 – 11:45 DOH (Mon, Wed, Fri & Sun)**
QR164 CPH 21:40 – 05:50+1 day DOH (Daily)***

*777-300ER Qsuite Business Class offered daily
**777-300ER No Qsuite Business Class cabin
***Qsuite Business Class cabin offered on select days (777-200L) through 29 November 2019. From 1 March – 28 March 2020 Qsuite cabin offered daily (A350-1000).

At the time of writing, flights QR161/QR162 are scheduled to offer the Qsuite Business Class cabin through to the end of the current booking period.

Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW)

a runway with a building in the background

Qatar Airways has been offering intermittent Qsuite service on its Doha – Dallas/Ft. Worth route since 16 January 2019 and the route finally began offering daily Qsuite service from 15 February 2019.

Here’s the schedule as it currently stands:

QR729 DOH 07:50 – 15:30 DFW (Daily)
QR730 DFW 18:10 – 16:40+1 day DOH (Daily)

The service was being operated by a Qatar Airways Boeing 777-300ER but, since 31 May 2019, an Airbus A350-1000 has taken over.

As things stand this route is set to keep the Qsuite Business Class cabin for the foreseeable future.

Frankfurt (FRA)

Qatar Airways used the 2018 ITB travel fair in Berlin to announce that the Doha – Frankfurt route would get a Qsuite equipped aircraft from 1 May 2018.

There was a point at which both daily flights offered a Qsuite Business Class cabin but, since 31 March 2019, Qatar Airways has been operating an A380 on the later flights and the airline’s A380s do not offer Qsuites.

The current schedule is as follows:

QR69 DOH 01:35 – 07:10 FRA (Daily 777 service)
QR67 DOH 07:45 – 13:20 FRA (Daily A380 service)

QR70 FRA 10:55 – 17:55 DOH (Daily 777 service)
QR68 FRA 17:35 – 00:35+1 day DOH (Daily A380 service)

As things stand the Frankfurt route is set to continue offering 777 & A380 service through to the end of the current bookable period.

Hong Kong (HKG)

a city skyline at night

At the time of writing there hasn’t been any official announcement from Qatar Airways but the Expert Flyer seat maps don’t generally lie.

As things stand, both of the two daily flights between Doha and Hong Kong offer the Qatar Airways Qsuite business Class cabin on the following schedule:

QR818 DOH 02:40 – 16:05 HKG
QR816 DOH 07:35 – 20:35 HKG

QR815 HKG 01:20 – 04:45 DOH
QR817 HKG 19:10 – 10:35 DOH

The current schedule shows both daily flights continuing to offer the QSuite Business Class cabin through to the end of the current booking period.

Houston (IAH)

Qatar Airways currently operates its new Airbus A350-1000 aircraft between Doha and Houston on the following schedule:

QR713 DOH 08:00 – 16:00 IAH (Daily)
QR714 IAH 18:00 – 16:40+1 day DOH (Daily)

As things stand Houston is set to receive Qsuites service through the end of the current bookable period.

Kuala Lumpur (KUL)

a tall buildings with Petronas Towers over them

Qatar Airways operates three daily flights between Doha and Kuala Lumpur and since July 2019 at least one of these flights has been offering the Qatar Airways Qsuites.

Here’s the schedule as it stands…

QR848 DOH 02:05 – 15:00 KUL*
QR852 DOH 08:50 – 21:50 KUL
QR844 DOH 19:30 – 08:25+1 day KUL**

QR853 KUL 02:25 – 05:15 DOH (Daily)
QR845 KUL 09:35 – 12:00 DOH (Daily)**
QR849 KUL 20:50 – 23:15 DOH (Daily)*

…and here’s when you can expect to see the Qsuites available on this route:

  • Flights QR848 and QR849 are currently scheduled to be operated by a 777-300ER with Qsuites between 16 October 2019 and 29 March 2020 inclusive.

**Flights QR844 and QR845 have been offering Qsuites onboard an Airbus A350-900 since 15 July 2019 and will continue to do so when they’re taken over by the larger A350-1000 on 31 January 2020. The schedule currently shows thses flights reverting to a non-Qsuite-equipped A350-900 from 29 March 2020.

The end of March signals the end of the Qatar Airways 2019/20 winter season so it’s entirely possible that one or more of these flights will again be scheduled to offer the Qsuites once Qatar Airways gets around to updating its schedule for summer 2020.

London (LHR)

a bridge over water with towers and towers

This was the first route to offer the new QSuite Business Class cabin and Qatar Airways has a habit of changing which flights offer the Qsuite Business Class cabin on a monthly basis.

At the time of writing (11 June 2019) these are the flights offering the Qsuite Business Class cabin:

QR11 DOH 03:40 – 09:05 LHR (Mon, Wed & Fri A380 service)
QR3 DOH 07:50 – 13:15 LHR (Daily A380 service)
QR7 DOH 09:00 – 14:20 LHR (Daily A350-1000 service)*
QR1 DOH 12:45 – 17:55 LHR (Daily A350-900 service)**
QR15 DOH 15:15 – 20:25 LHR (Daily A350-1000 service)*
QR5 DOH 16:50 – 22:00 LHR (Daily 777 service)*

QR6 LHR 08:00 – 16:45 DOH (Daily 777 service)*
QR10 LHR 10:50 – 19:50 DOH (Daily A380 service)
QR4 LHR 15:05 – 00:10+1 day DOH (Daily A380 service)
QR8 LHR 16:00 – 00:50+1 day DOH (Daily A350-1000 service)*
QR2 LHR 21:30 – 06:20+1 day DOH (Daily A350-900 service)**
QR16 LHR 21:55 – 06:45+1 day DOH (Daily A350-1000 service)*

*Qsuite service scheduled for the remainder of the current booking period
*Qsuite service currently scheduled through 28 March 2020

This is very much a route you should keep a close eye on if you’re specifically looking to book into the Qsuite cabin – the aircraft operating this route change frequently so check very carefully what a given flight is offering before you book.

Note: The timings posted are for the summer schedule so may change for the winter months.

Los Angeles (LAX)

a view of a city from a hill

Qatar Airways made absolutely no announcement when it scheduled a Qsuite equipped 777-200LR aircraft to operate on the Doha – Los Angeles route from 2 February 2019 and, since then, the route has seen Qsuite service offered on the following schedule:

QR739 DOH 07:50 – 14:094 LAX
QR740 LAX 15:55 – 17:40+1 day DOH

At the time of writing the Qsuite cabin is shown as being available on this route through to the end of the bookable period.

Manchester (MAN)

From 14 February 2020, Qatar Airways’ second daily flight between Doha and Manchester (QR27/QR28) will be operated by a Qsuite-equipped 777 aircraft

From 1 March 2020, the earliest of the three daily departure (QR21/QR22) will also be operated by a refurbished Boeing 777 complete with Qsuites.

On 21 February & 28 February 2020, Qatar Airways will operate a Qsuite-equipped aircraft on flights QR23/QR24.

[HT: Head For Points]

Here’s what the schedule looks like from 1 March 2020:

QR21 DOH 01:20 – 06:00 MAN (Daily 777 Qsuite Service)*
QR27 DOH 07:45 – 12:25 MAN (Daily 777 Qsuite Service)
QR23 DOH 15:25 – 20:00 MAN

QR22 MAN 07:25 – 17:15 DOH (Daily 777 Qsuite Service)*
QR28 MAN 14:10 – 00:10+1 day DOH (Daily 777 Qsuite Service)
QR24 MAN 21:10 – 06:50+1 day DOH

*The schedule currently shows QR21 getting Qsuites service from 2 March and QR22 getting Qsuites service from 1 March but as QR21 turns around to become QR22 I expect the schedules to be updated to show both flights offering Qsuites from 1 March 2020.

Flights QR27/QR28 are currently scheduled to offer the Qsuite Business Class cabin though to the end of the currently bookable period while flights QR21/QR22 are only scheduled to offer the Qsuite cabin through 24 October 2020.

The end of October is also the end of the summer schedule so it’s possible that QR21/QR22 will continue to offer the Qsuites when the winter scheduled is updated so this is something to keep an eye on.

Miami (MIA)

a building with neon lights and palm trees

As things stand, Qatar Airways operates an Airbus A350-900 (without Qsuites) between Doha and Miami but from 1 August 2020 this aircraft will be replaced by a lager (and Qsuite-equipped) Airbus A350-1000 on the following schedule:

QR777 DOH 08:20 – 16:50 MIA (Daily)
QR778 MIA 19:10 – 16:15+1 day DOH (Daily)

When the schedules were fist loaded with the new aircraft it was only set to operate this route through to the end of the summer season (towards the end of October) but a recent update has seen Qatar Airways extend A350-1000 service to Miami though to the end of the current booking period.

Mumbai (BOM)

Qatar Airways began offering its Qsuite Business Class cabin on its daily flight to/from Mumbai in July 2018. The aircraft operating the route is a Boeing 777-300ER and, at the time of writing, the schedule looks like this:

QR556 DOH 20:30 – 02:40+1 day BOM
QR557 BOM 04:10 – 05:20 DOH

Currently the Qsuite cabin is shown as being available on this route through to the end of the bookable period.

Munich (MUC)

Both of the Boeing 777-300ERs that Qatar Airways has been operating between Doha and Munich since August 2018 have, at one point, offered the Qsuite Business Class cabin but, as things stand, only one of the two daily flights currently has Qatar Airways’ premium Business Class offering.

The second flight pair gets the Qsuite cabin back later in a few weeks time.

Here’s the schedule:

QR059 DOH 01:50 – 07:00 MUC (Daily)*
QR057 DOH 08:05 – 13:15 MUC (Daily)**

QR060 MUC 09:45 – 16:20 DOH (Daily)*
QR058 MUC 16:55 – 23:30 DOH (Daily)**

*Qsuite Business Class currently offered daily and is scheduled to continue to do so through the end of the current booking period.
**Qsuite Business Class offered from 2 July 2019 through to the end of the current booking period.

New York (JFK)

a city skyline with a body of water

Qatar Airways offers two daily flights between Doha and New York (JFK) and both currently offer the Qsuite business class cabin.

Here’s the schedule (at the time of writing):

QR703 DOH 02:15 – 09:00 JFK (Daily)
QR701 DOH 08:15 – 15:00 JFK (Daily)

QR704 JFK 10:45 – 06:05+1 day DOH (Daily)
QR702 JFK 22:00 – 17:40+1 day DOH (Daily)

  • Flights QR703/QR704 are currently operated by an A350-1000 aircraft (Qatar Airways’ newest aircraft) while flights QR701/702 are currently operated by a Boeing 777-300ER.
  • Flights QR701/702 are scheduled to also get an Airbus A350-1000from 28 March 2020.

All flights on the Doha – New York (JFK) route are scheduled to keep the Qatar Airways Qsuites through to the end of the current booking period.

Paris (CDG)

Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge Hong Kong - Business Class

The Doha – Paris route was the second to get the QSuites when a 777-300ER with the new Business Class cabin landed at CDG on 23 September 2017.

Since then Qatar Airways has been moving around its Qsuite equipped aircraft so things on this route have been quite fluid.

Here’s how things stand at the time of writing:

QR41 DOH 01:00 – 06:55 CDG (Daily A380 service)
QR39 DOH 07:40 – 13:40 CDG (Daily A380 service)
QR37 DOH 15:20 – 21:15 CDG (Daily 777 service)*

QR42 CDG 08:50 – 16:20 DOH (Daily A380 service)

QR38 CDG 22:40 – 06:00+1 day DOH (Daily 777 service)*

*Qsuite cabin onboard

  • From 1 August 2019 QR37/Q38 are operarted by an Airbus A350-1000 (with Qsuites) through to the end of the current booking period.
  • From 3 September 2019 flights QR41/Q42 are operarted by a combination of Airbus A380 and 777-300ER aircraft (no Qsuites on either)

Philadelphia (PHL)

Independence Hall with a clock tower and flags

Qatar Airways was supposed to offer a QSuite equipped Airbus A350-900 on its Doha – Philadelphia route from 1 June but, following a recent schedule change, the start of Qsuite service has been pushed back to 1 September 2019.

Note: The first departure from Philadelphia to offer the QSuite cabin (per ExpertFlyer) is on 2 September 2019.

Here’s the schedule for the route:

QR727 DOH 07:55 – 14:55 PHL
QR728 PHL 21:15 – 16:40+1 day DOH

As things stand Qatar Airways has scheduled the QSuite-equipped aircraft to operate to/from Philadelphia through to 28 March 2019.

Sao Paulo (GRU)

a lake with a city in the background

Qatar Airways offers a daily service between Doha and Buenos Aires with a stopover in Sao Paulo along the way. Qatar Airways uses a 777-200LR aircraft on this route and, since 7 December 2018, Qatar Airways has offered a Qsuite cabin on every flight.

QR773 DOH 07:20 – 18:20 GRU 19:30 – 21:20 EZE (Daily)
QR774 EZE 22:40 – 02:10+1 day GRU 03:40 – 23:55 DOH (Daily)

Shanghai (PVG)

A Qsuite equipped 777-300ER has been operating on the Doha – Shanghai route from 15 May 2018 on the following schedule:

QR870 DOH 02:00 – 04:20 PVG
QR871 PVG 00:20 – 04:40 DOH

Shanghai Night View

When the route first launched Qatar Airways had only scheduled the refitted 777 to operate the Shanghai route through 31 May 2018 but, since then, the Qsuite equipped aircraft’s time on this route has been extended through to the end of the bookable period.

Singapore (SIN)

Qatar Airways offers three daily flights between Doha and Singapore and on 1 November 2018 one of the flights began offering Qsuites Business Class. On 1 December 2018 a second flight added Qsuites Business Class and since 31 March 2019 all three flights have offered the Qsuite Business Class cabins.

JW Marriott Singapore South Beach

Here’s what the schedule looks like:

QR946 DOH 02:25 – 15:45 SIN (Daily A350-1000 service)

QR947 SIN 21:25 – 00:05+1 day DOH (Daily A350-900 service)

All three daily flights are currently shceduled to offer the Qsuite Business Class cabin through to the end of rthe booking period.

Stockholm (ARN)

Qatar Airways seems to offer an on/off Qsuite service between Doha and Stockholm so it’s always worth checking the schedules closely before you book.

Here’s the schedule as it stands:

QR169 DOH 01:50 – 07:15 ARN (Tue, Wed & Sat A350-900 service)
QR167 DOH 07:35 – 13:00 ARN (Mon, Thu, Fri & Sun A350-900 service)

As things stand the Qsuite-equipped aircraft is scheduled on this route through the end of the bookable period.

    • No QSuites to/from Brussels yet. The route is operated by an A350-900 and, as far as I’m aware, none of these have been retrofitted with QSuites yet.
