Update: According to a reader posting in the comments section this site is no longer “secret” – clicking the red banner that appears on some hotel sites will reveal the necessary details too.
Details of Marriott’s hidden website first emerged towards the end of August and at the time, I made the conscious decision not to write about it in the belief that Marriott was going to make it more user friendly before officially announcing its existence. Well, here we are over two weeks later and there’s been no sign of any announcement from Marriott so now seems as good a time as any to shine another light on what may be one of the more useful websites to emerge from the pandemic.
Marriott has built a website that is designed to show travelers what services and amenities its properties are offering during the current crisis. The site isn’t yet official and its contents are not yet complete, but with in-house offerings varying wildly from property to property (even for properties in the same town or city), this can still be an invaluable resource for anyone trying to decide what Marriott to book for their next trip.
A key thing I should point out before I go any further is that this isn’t a straightforward website to use (presumably because it’s not meant to be viewed by the general public just yet), but once you know how to make the most of it, the information it yields can be very useful indeed.
Using Marriott’s Secret Site
The key to using Marriott’s secret site is the code that every Marriott property around the world has been assigned. The code is simple to find as it’s embedded in the URL for each of Marriott’s properties.
In the case of the JW Marriott Los Angeles…
…while for the Shanghai Marriott City Center its “shamc“:
Once you have the code of the property whose details you’d like to look up, the rest is straightforward.
To see what services and amenities any Marriott property is offering during the current pandemic (and the restrictions that come with it) simply insert your chosen property’s identification code into this URL:
https://whattoexpect.marriott.com/CODE
In the case of the JW Marriott Los Angeles, this is the page that comes up…
…and it’s the “Hotel Information” section that’s key:
Expanding the “Property Amenities & Services” section shows what parts of the property are open and closed…
…in this case, we can see that the Fitness Center, Spa, and Executive Lounge are closed while the Outdoor Pool and the Business Center are open.
Expending the “Marriott Bonvoy” section shows what elite benefits guests can expect…
…and expending the “Food and Beverage Offerings” section shows what eateries and bars are currently operating:
One of the reasons why Marriott hasn’t yet made the site more user friendly and announced its existence officially is probably because not all of its properties appear to have uploaded their latest information to the site. Where a property’s information is still outstanding the website will show a “commitment to clean” page:
Hopefully, in time, more and more properties will update this site with their latest information but, for now, this is still the best resource open to travelers looking to find out what services and amenities they can expect to be made available to them at Marriott properties around the world.
Bottom Line
There’s a secret/hidden Marriott website which can be used to find out what services and amenities are currently available at a variety of Marriott properties around the world. The site’s information is far from complete but this is still a very useful tool for anyone planning stays at Marriott properties during the current pandemic.

The link to this information is in the red banner of the first screen shot you posted “…what to expect at our hotel”. Perhaps some properties have not gone “live” with this and using the property code gets you access to a work in progress?
Having just searched for a Bonvoy property near DCA that had both food and a late night airport shuttle available, I can confirm that the content for each property varies in terms of scope and accuracy. Some properties have been more diligent than others in providing info–I ended up calling to confirm.
Doesn’t look like a lot of the RCs have codes?
I always call front desk to confirm ahead of time, it doesn’t require that much effort and they are always very friendly.
