Yesterday, American Airlines confirmed that it will be adding 18 new domestic and international routes out of the Northeast as part of its new partnership with JetBlue and as I covered that news at the time, it’s only fair to cover the news that JetBlue will also be adding new domestic and international routes out of New York – there will be 15 new routes in total.

JetBlue New Domestic Routes

From New York (JFK)

JetBlue has said that it plans to start up flights to two new cities in the western United States from its base at New York JFK.

From 1 July 2021, JetBlue will operate a new non-stop seasonal service to Kalispell, Montana’s Glacier Park International Airport (FCA). Flights will operate up to 3x/week through 7 September 2021 and seats will go on sale from 23 February 2021.

The planned schedule currently looks like this:

B62345 JFK 19:30 – 23:02 FCA
B62346 FCA 23:55 – 06:18+ 1 day JFK

As the flights have yet to be loaded into the reservation systems, we don’t yet know which days of the week these flights will operate. All should become clear on 23 February.

From 2 July 2021, JetBlue will operate a new non-stop summer seasonal service to Boise Airport (BOI) in Idaho. Flights will operate up to 4x/week through 6 September 2021 and seats will go on sale from 23 February 2021.

The planned schedule currently looks like this:

B62741 JFK 19:15 – 23:01 BOI
B62742 BOI 23:55 – 06:30+ 1 day JFK

Boise becomes JetBlue’s first destination in Idaho and the 31st state served by the airline but as the flights have yet to be loaded into the reservation systems, we don’t yet know which days of the week these flights will operate. All should become clear on 23 February.

From New York (EWR)

Fewer details are available for JetBlue’s new routes out of Newark (we haven’t been given flight numbers or any schedule information) but we do know that the following destinations are expected to be served from 1 July 2021:

  • Aguadilla, Puerto Rico (BQN) – Year-round daily service
  • Martha’s Vineyard (MVY) – Summer seasonal service up to 2x/day, 5x/week
  • Nantucket (ACK) – Summer seasonal service up to 2x/day, 5x/week
  • Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA) – Summer seasonal daily service
  • St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands (STT) – Year-round service up to 4x/week

These flights will go on sale from 23 February.

From New York (LGA)

As with JetBlue’s new routes out of Newark, we don’t have many specifics regarding the airline’s new routes out of LaGuardia (we haven’t been given flight numbers or any schedule information) but we do know that the following destinations are expected to be served from 1 July 2021:

  • Charleston International Airport (CHS) – Year-round daily service
  • Denver International Airport (DEN) – Year-round 2x/day service
  • Martha’s Vineyard Airport (MVY) – Summer seasonal daily service

These flights will go on sale from 23 February.

Note: JetBlue has confirmed that the new Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket routes will be flown on its Embraer 190 aircraft and that all other new routes will be operated by its A320 aircraft.

JetBlue New International Routes

To go alongside the 6 new international routes out of JFK that American Airlines announced yesterday, JetBlue has confirmed plans to launch 5 new international routes of its own out of Newark (EWR) on 1 July 2021.

We don’t yet have schedule details for these new routes (they should become apparent when these flights go on sale on 23 February) but we have been given an idea of the flight frequencies that we can expect:

  • Antigua (ANU) – Year-round service with up to 3 weekly flights.
  • Cartagena, Colombia (CTG) – Year-round service with up to 4 weekly flights.
  • Port-au-Prince, Haiti (PAP) – Year-round service with up to 4 weekly flights.
  • Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic (POP) – Year-round service with up to 5 weekly flights.
  • St. Lucia (UVF) – Year-round service with up to 3 weekly flights (Mint offered on select Saturdays).

All of JetBlue’s new international routes will be operated using the airline’s A320 aircraft.

Bottom Line

JetBlue is joining its new partner, American Airlines, in launching a series of new routes out of the New York area. With just one exception, all of the new routes will launch on 1 July 2021 and all the new flights will go on sale from Monday, 23 February 2021.
