There are two IHG Rewards credit cards which offer cardholders a free night stay at any IHG property costing up to 40,000 points per night – the IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card and IHG Rewards Club Select credit card (not open to new applicants) – and this is a quick step-by-step guide to redeeming the IHG free night certificate once it’s loaded to your account.
Redeeming An IHG Free Night Certificate In 6 Basic Steps
Step 1
Open up the IHG website and click the link to ‘sign in’ which you’ll find in the top right corner of the screen.
Step 2
Enter your email or member number and your password in the window that opens up and click the “sign in” button
Step 3
Once signed in, access your IHG Rewards account by clicking on your name which should have now taken the place of the “sign in” option in the top right corner of the page.
Step 4
Your IHG Rewards account homepage should now be open and as long as you have an unexpired IHG free night certificate in your account, you should see it noted under your points balance (towards the top left of the account page).
Now click on the link that reads “1 Free Night”
Step 5
The option to use the free night certificate together with the dates between which the certificate must be used should now be visible on the screen in front of you.
Click on the “Book Free Night” button
Step 6
The page that now loads should look identical to the usual IHG homepage…
…but as soon as you begin to type in the search box you’ll see a number of further options appear and, amongst these, you should see the rate preference preselected as “Chase Anniversary Free Night”
Perform a search of your choice (without changing the rate preference) and the results you’ll be presented with will show all the properties at which the IHG free night certificate can be applied (at your selected location and on your chosen date)
Book the property you’d like to stay at and enjoy your free night!
Note: If you happen to have more than one free night certificate available to use, be aware that each certificate must be redeemed separately (even if you wish to use them on concurrent dates at the same property) – you’ll have to make multiple one-night reservations.
