Just as we saw a couple of years ago, IHG One Rewards is using Cyber Monday 2025 to improve its end of year global promotion and it's boosting the number of bonus points it's offering on stays completed before the end of the year from 3x to 5x.

Just as we saw a couple of years ago, IHG One Rewards is using Cyber Monday 2025 to improve its end of year global promotion and it’s boosting the number of bonus points it’s offering on stays completed before the end of the year from 3x to 5x. The catch is that all bookings have to be made by the end of tomorrow (2 December 2025)

The deal

  • Register (here) – If you have already registered for the 3x promotion you don’t need to register again.
  • Book by 2 December 2025.
  • Complete you stay by 31 December 2025.
  • The restrictions applied to the standard end of year sale do not apply to bookings made today and tomorrow. So:
    • You will earn bonus points on your first stay
    • You will earn 5x bonus points on your second stay and all stays thereafter (in the promotion period)
    • There is no limit to the number of points you can earn during the 5x promotion (the 3x promotion is capped at 70,000 bonus points)

Full terms and conditions (which you should read carefully before booking) can be found here.

The math

With 5x bonus points on offer and with no cap to the number of bonus points you can earn, this could be a lucrative promotion for anyone in a position to complete one or more stays before the end of the year.

Here at TFM, we value IHG One Rewards points at 0.4 cents each (based on the value we know we can get out of them with relative ease) and we can use that valuation to come up with two examples showing some potential earnings from these promotions.

Example 1:

Assuming:

  • 4-night stay
  • Cost of stay is $1,000 ($250/night)
  • Stay is made before 31 December 2025
  • Booking is made on Monday 1 December or Tuesday 2 December 2025
  • Guest has no elite status
  • Guest does not hold an IHG One Rewards credit card

These are the expected earnings:

  • 10,000 points from base earnings (10 points/$)*
  • 40,000 points from the 5x promotion

Total = 50,000 points

Based on our valuation of IHG One Rewards points, that’s an effective rebate of $200 or 20%.

Example 2:

Assuming:

  • 4-night stay
  • Cost of stay is $1,000 ($250/night)
  • Stay is made before 31 December 2025
  • Booking is made on Monday 1 December or Tuesday 2 December 2025
  • Guest has Platinum Elite status
  • Guest holds the IHG® Rewards Premier credit card

These are the expected earnings:

  • 10,000 points from base earnings (10 points/$)*
  • 6,000 points from the Platinum Elite bonus (60%)
  • 40,000 points from the 5x promotion
  • 10,000 points from the IHG® Rewards Premier credit card (10 points/$ at IHG properties)

Total = 66,000 points

Based on our valuation of IHG One Rewards points, that’s an effective rebate of $264 or 26.4%.

Those are both great effective rebates to be offered.

Sure, having elite status and an IHG co-branded credit card really helps, but the potential effective rebate for members who have no elite status and who don’t hold a co-branded isn’t exactly bad is it?

*This assumes that the stay didn’t take place at a Candlewood Suites property where the earning rate is just 5 points/dollar.

Bottom Line

The end of year IHG global promotion has been improved for 2 days only and this sees IHG One Rewards members able to earn 5x bonus points on stays made before the end of 2025 with no cap on the number of points they can earn. The one constraint is that all bookings need to be made by the end of 2 December 2025 to qualify fo the boosted earnings rate.
