American Express has announced that starting today and going forward, it will be adding new benefits to all three of its Corporate Cards as it brings some cards into closer alignment with their personal and business counterparts and as it incorporates new partnerships with Uber and CLEAR.

American Express New Corporate Card Benefits

The American Express Corporate Program has today announced new partnerships with Uber and CLEAR and announced what it’s calling “an expanded partnership” with Hilton.

These new and expanded relationships will see the following benefits added:

Other Changes Coming To Corporate Amex Cards (In Brief)

American Express is also introducing enhanced flexibility, choice, and control to help companies tailor their Membership Rewards program in a way that allows them to offer this benefit to more of their employees (employees earning Membership Rewards points on their American Express Corporate Cards can continue to link those points to their personal American Express Card earning account).

Eligible Corporate Card Members who apply through the Corporate Advantage Program and are approved for select personal American Express Cards can be eligible to receive a fee credit on their personal Card annually, as long as they continue to have that American Express Corporate Card from their employer.

An updated American Express Business App will allow Corporate Card Members to view and manage their business transactions, statements and account, as well as organize their expenses via enhanced expense reports that can be created within the app instantly. New expense reports capabilities include categorizing transactions, attaching receipt images to reports, and exporting reports into PDF form.

All three Corporate Cards will have a new look and feel and are enabled for contactless payments. The Corporate Green Card will be made primarily with reclaimed plastic collected from beaches, islands and coastal communities from Parley for the Oceans, and the Corporate Gold and Corporate Platinum Cards will be metal.

Quick Thoughts

The Corporate Platinum Card looks like it’s getting a few more of the benefits that the Platinum Card from American Express and the Business Platinum Card from American Express both offer which is very good to see…especially when it comes to the travel protection benefits.

The added airline fee credit for the Corporate Gold Card and the increased airline fee credit on the Corporate Platinum card are welcome enhancements as is the new CLEAR benefit on the Corporate Platinum Card.

Lastly, although the Hilton Honors Silver status probably won’t add much to most readers of this blog (I’m guessing most have the Hilton Honors American Express Ascend Card at the very least which comes with Gold status), for any Corporate cardholder who doesn’t actually have any kind of Hilton status this will open up the 5th night free benefit.

Bottom Line

Overall, while no one single change here is particularly huge all the changes appear to be positive so that has to be good news for American Express Corporate cardholders.

  1. The business platinum offers trip delay benefits? For some reason I thought differently.

I don’t think a whole lot of the Hilton silver status. That and $25 will buy you breakfast at most Hiltons.
