New Singapore Airlines Spontaneous escapes deals are live (30% off March 2025 award travel)

It’s the middle of the month and that means that another set of KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes deals has been published by Singapore Airlines and if you were hoping for a significant improvement on the deals we’ve seen in previous months, buckle in for disappointment.

Yes, some of the Premium Economy deals look interesting, but the continuing shortage of round trip Business Class deals to destinations outside of Asia is frustrating and some of the blackout date restrictions in this set of deals borders on the laughable.

As is usual with Spontaneous Escapes deals, the airline is offering KrisFlyer members 30% off award bookings on select routes (in its Economy, Premium Economy, and Business class cabins) and as usual, the value on offer will vary from route to route.

Headline terms & conditions

• Book by 28 February 2025 (23:59 hrs Local Time).
• Travel between 1 and 31 March 2025 (blackout dates may apply).
• Get a 30% discount on select award bookings.
• One-way and round-trip awards are permissible.
• Taxes and fees will be charged.

The deals

It starting to get hard to call these ‘sets of deals’ if you’re based outside of Asia as Singapore Airlines continues to show a great reluctance to reduce the cost of Business Class on most of its routes to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, or North America, but a small silver lining this month is the fact that there are a few useful Premium Economy deals on offer.

Note: The costs you’ll see indicated below are for one-way travel excluding taxes and fees.

Keep in mind

The Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program is a transfer partner for all four major transferable currencies (from Chase, Citi, Amex, and Capital One), so if any of the deals that you see below would work well for you but you don’t have a healthy KrisFlyer balance, you should be able to top up your KrisFlyer account from one or more sources.

Business Class deals

Southeast Asia Routes:

In this set of Spontaneous Escapes, there are eight Business Class deals on offer for travel within Southeast Asia and as that’s two more than last month, that’s good news. The less good news is that some of these routes seem to have a ridiculous number of blackout dates. The deals include:

• Bali – (on select flights) – 14,700 miles*

North Asia Routes:

In this set of Spontaneous Escapes, there are, essentially just three Business Class deals on offer for travel within North Asia (one fewer than last month and this month one of the deals is for one-way travel only).

Beijing appears as a destination twice because Singapore Airlines flies to both of the city’s major airports, but that’s still just one deal to our minds.

In this set of Spontaneous Escapes, there are just four Business Class deals on offer for travel to/from this region and while (down from seven last time around) and to make matters worse, 2 of the 4 deals are for one-way travel only. Also, once again, there are no deals to or from Africa.

In this set of Spontaneous Escapes there are four Business Class deals on offer for travel to or from the Southwest Pacific one more than last month), but two are only valid for one-way travel.

European Routes:

There are just two Spontaneous Escapes deal that touch Europe this month (one fewer than January) and one of these is for one-way travel only.

Frankfurt to/from New York (JFK) is available for 56,700 miles* and Brussels to Singapore is available for 72,450 miles*.

USA & Canada Routes:

The one Spontaneous Escape Business Class deal which involves travel to/ from the United States is one that’s already been covered in the Europe section and it’s the same deal that we saw last month:

Frankfurt to/from New York (JFK) is available for 56,700 miles*.

North Asia Routes:

There are four Premium Economy Class deals for travel within this region and these are exactly the same four deals that we saw published in January.

There are three Premium Economy Class deal for travel within this region in this set of Spontaneous Escapes (once again, Singapore Airlines seems to think that Istanbul is an African city), and nothing has changed from the last set of Spontaneous Escapes with two of the deals remaining as one-way deals only.

Southwest Pacific Routes:

There are three Premium Economy Class deals for travel within this region and continuing on from what we saw last month, two of the deals are for round trip travel and cover Australia’s most popular cities.

Unfortunately (and more than a little ridiculously), however, 18 out of 31 days are blacked out for travel on the Sydney – Singapore route.

Amazingly, there are nine Premium Economy Class deals for travel to or from Europe this month (four more than last month) although only three of these are for round trip travel.

USA & Canada Routes:

There are four US routes on which a Premium Economy deals is currently bookable (one is also a European route) but only one is available in both directions.

Bottom line

As usual, how these deals are viewed will vary from person to person (depending on people’s travel plans) and while there really isn’t all that much to get excited about here (partly because some of the routes aren’t all that exciting and partly because some of the blackout date restrictions are ridiculous), there are one or two deals available that may be of interest to TFM readers.

Sure, the number of deals for round trip travel to/from destinations outside of Asia continues to be disappointing, but if you’re happy to travel in Premium Economy the deals we’ve seen so far this year are an improvement on what we saw through most of 2024.

Full Terms and Conditions per Singapore Airlines:

1. The KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes promotion (“Promotion”) is organized by Singapore Airlines Limited (“SIA”). The promotion is open to KrisFlyer members (“Participants”) for the online redemption of Promo Awards in Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class on selected Singapore Airlines operated flights. Please refer to the list of eligible flights above. The promotion is not valid for codeshare flights.
2. Eligible bookings can only be made through singaporeair.com or the SingaporeAir mobile app. This promotion is not available through KrisFlyer Membership Services, SIA Ticket Offices, travel agents, or any other channels.
3. To qualify for the Promotion, tickets must be issued between 14 February 2025 (0900 hrs, Local Time) and 28 February 2025 (2359 hrs, Local Time) (“Promotion Period”), both dates inclusive, for travel from 1 March 2025 (0000 hrs, Local Time) to 31 March 2025 (2359 hrs, Local Time) for all destinations.
4. This Promo awards must be ticketed immediately within the same booking session. Fare and seat availability will not be guaranteed otherwise.
5. If (i) any part of the itinerary is confirmed after the Promotion Period; (ii) or falls outside the applicable Travel Period; and/or (iii) contains an ineligible flight, the entire itinerary will not be eligible for the promotion. Please split your bookings for travel within and outside the promotional travel period.
6. Waitlist redemption is not available for all flights offered in this Promotion.
7. Any change is strictly not permitted for bookings made under this promotion. Cancellation is also not permitted for partially unused or totally unused tickets.
8. For (i) any flights cancelled by SIA, or (ii) if a SQ-operated flight was removed from a Participant’s booking due to Covid-19 and governmental regulatory changes, the miles redeemed in the unused portion of the ticket will be refunded into the relevant Participant’s KrisFlyer account with no additional fees charged. However, requests to change any booking details, or to retain the ticket for future use will not be granted. Participants may submit their request via the Assistance Request form.
9. This promotion cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion.
10. This promotion is applicable to one-way and round-trip travel. No stopovers are allowed for this promotion.
11. Taxes and fees are applicable in addition to the required redemption mileage and paid for separately by the passenger in the applicable currency. Taxes and fees are separately charged and payable and are not subject to any discount.
12. The Promotion will only apply to tickets purchased entirely with KrisFlyer miles. It does not apply to commercial tickets purchased with part miles, part cash.
13. The 30% discount level is only applied on the number of KrisFlyer miles required for an Economy Class Saver, Premium Economy Class Saver and/or Business Class Saver award ticket. The 30% discount will be displayed upon selection of eligible flight(s) under the Promo Awards category during booking on singaporeair.com.
14. All redemptions are subject to seat availability at the time of booking.
15. By participating in the Promotion, each Participant agrees to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions, SIA’s conditions of use of website, SIA’s Privacy Policy, and the KrisFlyer Terms and Conditions (collectively, “SIA Terms & Conditions”). Non-compliance with or breach of any of these SIA Terms and Conditions may result in the Participant being disqualified at any stage of the Promotion, and any discounts on KrisFlyer miles redemptions awarded may be forfeited, withheld, withdrawn or reclaimed.
16. All decisions made by SIA, in respect to any matter relating to this Promotion shall be final. SIA reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions, terminate or otherwise amend this Promotion, including any amendments to the eligible destinations, eligible flights, promotional dates and travel dates in this Promotion, without prior notice at its sole and absolute discretion.
17. To the extent permitted under applicable law, SIA will not be responsible or liable for any consequences that any Participant may suffer (including without limitation any damage, loss, injury or disappointment) by participating in the Promotion.
18. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
