American Express has launched a new targeted offer for Marriott Homes & Villas stays. The offer covers payments made through 17 December 2024 and because the spending needed to trigger the rebate doesn’t have to be made in a single transaction, this rebate may be easier to earn than first looks suggest.

Earn a one-time $300 statement credit after using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $1,200 USD in one or more purchases on property rate and charges incurred at time of reservation at participating Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy® properties from 9/18/2024 to 12/17/2024.

Quick thoughts

A key bit of good news here is that the headline details of the offer specifically state that the spending required to trigger the rebate doesn’t have to be done in a single transaction. This means that a couple of cheap (short) stays will trigger the credit in the same way that a single stay of $1,200 or more will trigger it.

This appears to go against what the detailed terms and conditions suggest, but as multiple transactions that add up to the spending requirement have always triggered the offer in the past, there’s no reason to think that things will work differently this time.

The less good news is that not all Homes & Villas properties are covered by this offer as Amex is limiting it to bookings in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

That’s not as limiting as a lot of Amex offers that we see, but if you were hoping to use this to save on a European break (for example), you’re out of luck.

As far as I can tell (based on the cards that I hold), this offer appears to be widely targeted to Amex’s membership rewards cards (consumer and business cards) but isn’t being targeted to Amex’s Bonvoy co-branded cards … which is disappointing.

Bottom Line

Amex has published a new offer for a $300 rebate on spending on Marriott Homes & Villas stays made by 17 December 2024. All Homes & Villas properties in in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean qualify for this promotion and with this targeted offer appearing on a wide variety of membership rewards cards, a lot of people should have access the the saving on offer.
