Promotion: Earn 50% more miles on select Singapore Airlines bookings (+ more)

Singapore Airlines is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its KrisFlyer program with a series of promotions that include bonus miles on flights, extra ways of earning elite status credits, and discounts on shopping purchases made with miles.

Most of these promotions are primarily aimed at flyers based in Singapore (unsurprisingly!), but there are at least three deals that should work for KrisFlyers based elsewhere as well.

Earn 50% more miles on select bookings

Bookings for travel on Singapore airlines made between 1 and 10 February 2024 for travel between 1 July and 30 November 2024 will earn 50% bonus miles as long as the booking is made on singaporeair.com or through the SingaporeAir mobile app.

These are the key terms that you need to know:

• An eligible booking is one where:
  • the booking is for travel on flights operated by Singapore Airlines;
  • the booking is made during the Promotional Period;
  • the booking is made via singaporeair.com or the Singapore Airlines Mobile App;
  • the date of travel on the booking falls between 1 July 2024 and 30 November 2024 (inclusive of both dates);
  • travel is completed by 30 November 2024.
• A maximum of 5,000 bonus miles can be earned per segment.
• Bonus miles are based on KrisFlyer miles earned from the combination of the distance flown and cabin bonus.
• Where a purchase of tickets is paid in part with KrisFlyer miles, the miles earned shall be proportional and only respect of the monetary amount paid for using cash.
• Bonus miles earned from this promotion may take up to four weeks to be credited into your KrisFlyer account after the relevant travel is completed.
• The Bonus Miles will be valid for a period of three years from the date on which it is credited into the Participant’s KrisFlyer account, following which they shall expire, and no extensions will be permitted.

No fare classes appear to be excluded from this promotion with Singapore Airlines publishing this table showing the eligible fares:

Win up to 1,000,000 miles

Flyers making an eligible booking with a Mastercard credit or debit card (please don’t use a debit card!) between 1 and 10 February 2024 for travel between 1 July and 30 November 2024 and completing an online registration form, will be entered into a draw to win up to 1,000,000 KrisFlyer miles.

The prizes:

• 1st – 1,000,000 miles
• 2nd – 500,000 miles
• 3rd – 250,000 miles

Eligibility: Eligible for KrisFlyer members residing in United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Cambodia, France, Hong Kong, India (except Tamil Nadu), Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Philippines, Republic of Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Portugal, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and US (except Florida, New York, and Rhode Island), aged 18 years or above at the time of entry.

Key terms:

• The booking must comprise of Singapore Airlines operated flights, or mixed itineraries containing at least one Singapore Airlines operated flight, with a ticket serial number beginning with 618.
• The booking must be made on singaporeair.com or through the SingaporeAir Mobile App. Tickets purchased through KrisFlyer Membership Services, SIA Ticket Offices, travel agents or any other channels will not be considered as a Qualifying Transaction.
• The booking must be made during the period from 1 February 2024 (0000hrs, GMT+8) to 10 February 2024 (2359hrs, GMT+8), both dates inclusive.
• The booking must be for travel from 1 July 2024 (0000 hrs, GMT+8) to 30 November 2024 (2359 hrs, GMT+8) for all destinations.
• The booking must be purchased entirely with cash.
• Payment for the booking must have been made with a valid Mastercard Credit/Debit card.
• The member’s KrisFlyer membership number must be submitted in their flight booking.
• Members must submit this online registration form with their full name, KrisFlyer membership number and eligible booking reference number(s) by 11 February 2024 (2359hrs GMT+8) to participate in the lucky draw.
• Each member is entitled to one chance per eligible booking.

Get an extra month for Spontaneous Escapes

The third and final part of the KrisFlyer anniversary celebrations that I think may be of interest, is the part which says that anyone booking award travel through this month’s Spontaneous Escapes promotion* (between 15 and 29 February) will have an extra month in which to travel at a reduced cost.

Ordinarily, Spontaneous Escapes deals only cover travel in the month following the promotion, so for the February promotion, the discount would usually be valid for travel taken in March only.

In this upcoming promotion, however, the reduced cost awards will be bookable for travel in March and April 2024, so make sure you come back here to see what deals Singapore Airlines publishes on 15 February (we’ll post them as soon as we see them).

*This is the monthly promotion in which award travel on select Singapore Airlines routes is discounted by 30%.

Bottom line

Singapore Airlines has launched a series of deals and promotions to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its KrisFlyer program, and three of these promotions stand out.

Select bookings made by 10 February will earn 50% bonus miles, select bookings made using Mastercard cards can be entered into a draw to win up to 1,000,000 miles, and the upcoming Spontaneous Escapes promotion will give flyers a discount on select award bookings for travel in March and April 2024.
