One of the changes that Hyatt has introduced to the World of Hyatt program for 2024 is the ability for members to gift various types of awards to friends, family, and other fellow members.
As a Hyatt Globalist member, the Club Access Awards that I have earned over the past two years are not of any real use to me as my status gives me access to Hyatt’s clubs/lounges anyway and, up until now, they have just gone unused.
Now, however, thanks to the gifting option that’s live on Hyatt’s website, I can give them away to someone who can use them on a future stay … so that’s what I plan to do.
What are Hyatt’s Club Access Awards?
A Club Access Award is an award that gives the user access to Hyatt’s Club lounges on nights for which the user has paid an eligible rate or has redeemed points for a standard-room Free Night Award, a Suite Free Night Award, or a Points + Cash Award.
The award is valid on reservations of up to seven consecutive nights but cannot be redeemed on bookings made using any of Hyatt’s Free Night Award certificates.
The Club Access Award is only redeemable at participating Hyatt properties that have a Club lounge and is not valid at Miraval, Caption by Hyatt, Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, Destination by Hyatt Residences, or Hyatt Vacation Club hotels and resorts or Small Luxury Hotels of the World hotels.
A World of Hyatt member wishing to use a Club Access Award must redeem the certificate in advance when making the underlying room reservation by calling 800.544.9288 or a Hyatt Global Care Center. At the time of writing, Club Access Awards cannot be redeemed online (although I think this may be changing soon).
What I’m giving away
Currently, I have 8 Club Access Awards sitting my account with 4 expiring at the end of February 2024 and 4 expiring at the end of February 2025.
In this giveaway, I’m only offering up the 4 awards that will expire on 29 February 2024 (you must check out on or before that date for the award to work on your reservation) so if you don’t have plans to stay at a Hyatt property by then, please don’t enter.
Some or all of the other 4 awards will (probably) be offered in a future Traveling For Miles giveaway, but for now, I’m focusing on the awards expiring in 6 weeks’ time.
How the giveaway will work
Important note: Be aware that if I’m to be able to gift the awards, the readers who will be getting the awards will need to be comfortable providing me with their World of Hyatt number and their last name. I appreciate that this will probably put quite a few people off (and that’s fair enough), but I don’t make Hyatt’s gifting rules so there’s not much I can do. If this doesn’t sit well with you, please don’t participate.
There’s nothing complicated about the giveaway, and I don’t expect anything in return so this is how it will work:
For a chance to ‘win’ a Club Access Award for a stay ending on or before 29 February 2024, send an email to this address – admin at travelingformiles.com – with a subject line that reads ‘Club Access Award Giveaway’.
Please do not provide any personal details in the email.
The giveaway will be open from the moment this article goes live until 23:59 PT on 18 January after which point, I will randomly select four of the emails that have been received and the senders will be contacted to let them know that they are welcome to have one of my Club Access Awards.
Should any of these people not respond within 24 hours, their entry will be discarded, a further email will be selected randomly, and the process will go on from there.
Keep in mind that this isn’t an official promotion (Hyatt and the World of Hyatt have nothing to do with this) and that this is just a mechanism for me give away some Club Access awards that may make someone’s Hyatt stay just a little bit better.
Any decisions that I make are final, there is no right of appeal, the names of the winners will not be made public, and please let’s not take this too seriously (that means please don’t send me any complaints!)

I’m giving away four World of Hyatt Club Access awards that are set to expire on 29 February 2024.
