IHG One Rewards is running two very similar promotions in which it’s offering members 3x points on stays made at select brands before July and September 2025. Between them, these promotions cover most IHG One rewards members worldwide and as this bonus comes on top of the existing global promotion, so there may be an opportunity for some members to double-dip.
3x promotion for accounts registered in the Americas/Caribbean

Key terms shared by both promotions
- Members can pre-register for this Promotion through June 30, 2025 (the “Pre-Registration Period”).
- Members will be able to stay and earn IHG One Rewards bonus points under this Promotion beginning July 1, 2025 and ending on September 30, 2025 (the “Promotion Period”).
- Members who did not register during the Pre-Registration Period may register for the Promotion during the Promotion Period.
- To be a Qualifying Room Night under the Promotion, the room night must fall within the Promotion Period and must be part of a Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay. Room nights outside of the Promotion Period are not included, and room nights that are part of a stay that was completed prior to registration for the Promotion also are not included.
- For purposes of this Promotion, a “Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay” is defined as a minimum one (1) night stay at a participating hotel booked under a Qualifying Rate that is at least a total spend of US $30 (or local currency equivalent) per night.
- Room nights outside of the Promotion Period are not included, and room nights that are part of a stay that was completed prior to registration for the Promotion also are not included.

- If more than one member who registered for the Promotion checks into the same room, only one member is eligible to earn points under the Promotion for those nights that qualify.
- If a member books more than one room on the same night, the member will receive credit towards this Promotion for only one of the rooms that also meets the requirements of a Qualifying Room Night.
- For the 3X Unlimited Promotion, earning “3X” or “3X bonus points” on stays through September 30, 2025 means the total number of regular “base points” and promotional “bonus points” combined will equal three (3) times the base points the member would normally receive just for being an IHG One Rewards member.
- The promotional bonus points under this Promotion are calculated based solely on the base points the member is eligible to earn for a Qualifying Stay just for being an IHG One Rewards member, and any Elite status bonus points or any other bonus or promotional points the member may be eligible to receive for the same stay are not included.
- The bonus points awarded through this Promotion are not Elite status qualifying under the IHG One Rewards program.

Quick thoughts
Apart from the fact that the two promotions don’t share the exact same set of participating bands, in all other areas they’re essentially the same and it’s nice to see that there’s no cap on the number of bonus points that a qualifying member can earn.
The most important rules:
- You must register for the promotion targeted to your geographic area.
- You must stay between 1 July and 30 September 2025.
- Make sure you pay attention to which brands will trigger the promotion for your account.
- Points + cash stays and reward night bookings are not classified as qualifying stays
- Only room bookings where the nightly rate is over $30 (or the equivalent in the local currency) will qualify for this promotion.
As long as you make sure that you keep those five rules at the front of your mind, you shouldn’t go wrong.
Here at TFM, we value IHG One Rewards points at 0.4 cents each (based on the value we know we can get out of them with relative ease) and we can use that valuation to come up with two examples showing some potential earnings from these promotions.
Example 1:
Assuming:
- 4-night stay
- Cost of stay is $1,000 ($250/night)
- Stay is made before 31 August 2025 (i.e. during the current global promotion)
- Guest selected the “2k points/2 nights” option in the global promotion
- Guest has no elite status
- Guest does not hold an IHG One Rewards credit card
These are the expected earnings:
- 10,000 points from base earnings (10 points/$)*
- 20,000 points from the 3x promotion
- 4,000 points from the global promotion (2k every 2 nights)
Total = 34,000 points
Based on our valuation of IHG One Rewards points, that’s an effective rebate of $136 or 13.6%.
Example 2:
Assuming:
- 4-night stay
- Cost of stay is $1,000 ($250/night)
- Stay is made before 31 August 2025 (i.e. during the current global promotion)
- Guest selected the “8k points/4 nights” option in the global promotion
- Guest has Platinum Elite status
- Guest holds the IHG® Rewards Premier credit card
These are the expected earnings:
- 10,000 points from base earnings (10 points/$)*
- 6,000 points from the Platinum Elite bonus (60%)
- 20,000 points from the 3x promotion
- 8,000 points from the global promotion (8k every 4 nights)
- 10,000 points from the IHG® Rewards Premier credit card (10 points/$ at IHG properties)
Total = 54,000 points
Based on our valuation of IHG One Rewards points, that’s an effective rebate of $216 or 21.6%.
This goes to show that right now, you can earn a pretty good rebate if you can stack the ongoing global promotion with the relevant 3x promotion that has been targeted to your geographic area.
Sure, having elite status and an IHG co-branded credit card really helps, but the potential effective rebate for members who have no elite status and who don’t hold a co-branded isn’t bad either.

Bottom line
Between 1 July and 30 September 2025, IHG One Rewards members can earn 3x points at select IHG brands around the world.
There are two separate promotions offering 3x points and you need to make sure that you register for the promotion targeted to the geographic area where your account is based (attempting to register for the wrong promotion will generate an error message).
Overall, this promotion isn’t a game changer (it’s unlikely to tempt many people to change their plans or to make new bookings), but if you can stack the 3x deal with the current global promotion, the effective rebates you can earn should be worthwhile.
