While Marriott’s Homes & Villas offering has been around for some time, Hyatt is considerably newer to the vacation rentals space, and just like Marriott, it seems to be keen to incentivise usage of its Homes and Hideaways properties through its World of Hyatt loyalty program.
For a limited time, Hyatt is now offering World of Hyatt members the chance to get 20% back on points bookings that are consumed between now and March next year.
Hyatt Homes & Hideaways
There’s no big mystery to Hyatt’s Homes and Hideaways. Where the main Hyatt portal sells nights at hotels around the world, the Homes and Hideaways portal sells nights at home, villas and condos around the United States (locations outside of the United States have not yet been added).
World of Hyatt + Homes & Hideaways
Homes & Hideaways is part of the World of Hyatt program so members can earn 5 World of Hyatt Base Points per eligible dollar spent, as well as standard elite tier bonuses, and Tier Qualifying Nights when they stay at a qualifying property.
This is what members and those with elite status can expect to earn outside of any promotions:
- Member – 5.0 points/dollar
- Discoverist – 5.5 points/dollar (includes 10% status bonus)
- Explorist – 6.0 points/dollar (includes 20% status bonus)
- Globalist – 6.5 points/dollar (includes 30% status bonus)
Points are only earned on charges identified as the property’s periodic (e.g., nightly, weekly) rental rate and so are not earned on any ancillary fees (e.g. cleaning fees, booking fees, damage fees, security deposit, taxes, etc…).
World of Hyatt on-property benefits are not applicable to stays booked through Homes & Hideaways (that’s unsurprising given the nature of the properties being booked) but World of Hyatt points may be redeemed for Homes and Hideaways bookings.
The promotion
Redeem your points for free nights on stays completed between 13 November 2024 and 9 March 2025 and earn 20% Bonus Points back.
Keep in mind that this is a points rebate promotion and not a points discount promotion, so what that means is that you’ll need to have the full number of points required to make a reservation at the time of booking.
As an example, an award booking that under ordinary circumstances would cost 100,000 points will still require a World of Hyatt member to use 100,000 points to make the booking, as the 20,000 points that this promotion will return from such a booking will be issued as a rebate and will not be taken off the cost of booking.
Key promotion terms
- You must be a member of World of Hyatt in good standing to participate (obviously!)
- Only points redeemed for stays completed between November 13, 2024 and March 9, 2025 will be eligible for this promotion.
- You will receive 20% Bonus Points back on the World of Hyatt points redeemed for free nights on stays at properties on Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt completed during the Promotion Period.
- All points awarded under this promotion are Bonus Points.
- Please allow 2 to 3 weeks after your point redemption has been completed for your Bonus Points to appear in your World of Hyatt account.
- Except as expressly stated, this promotion is not valid with other offers, promotions or discounts and is non-transferable.
- Promotion only available for a limited time and subject to availability.
- Any limitations or restrictions included in the published promotion shall apply.
- Promotion not valid in conjunction with previously held stays.
- Promotional blackout periods may apply due to seasonal periods or special events, and normal arrival/departure restrictions apply (unless otherwise noted).
Note: There’s no mention of a ‘book by’ date in the promotion terms or the FAQs, so it looks like this may be a promotion that will run until Hyatt feels that it has filled its booking target.

Bottom line
Hyatt has launched a new promotion for its Homes & Hideaways booking platform in which it’s offering guests 20% back on points bookings consumed by 9 March 2025. This isn’t as useful a promotion as one that offers a discount (rather than a rebate), but for anyone already considering a Homes and Hideaway style booking, this should offer a nice bonus.
