Qatar Airways has been deploying its hugely popular Business Class seats on an ever-increasing number of routes and recently that route list got a little longer when the Doha – Los Angeles route was added.
Now it looks as if a number of people have spotted that Qatar Airways will offer Qsuite service to/from Boston next year (the amusingly named “ChubbyPanda123” from Flyertalk).
What most don’t seem to be mentioning is that the Qsuite aircraft isn’t scheduled to fly on the Doha – Boston route indefinitely.
Right now ExpertFlyer is showing that Qatar Airways has scheduled a Qsuite equipped 777-300ER to take over the Doha – Boston route from 31 March 2019 as evidenced by this seat map (click to enlarge):
Here’s the schedule for the route….
QR743 DOH 08:15 – 14:10 BOS
QR744 BOS 23:05 – 18:05+1 day DOH
Right now, however, the Qsuite equipped 777 is only scheduled to operate on the route through 26 October (25 October for the Boston – Doha sector). This marks the end of Qatar Airways’ summer season and sees the introduction of an A350-900 which, based on the currently available seat map, does not offer Qsuites Business Class.
It is very possible that Qatar Airways will extend Qsuite service on its Boston route in a future schedule update (it has done so on numerous other routes) but you shouldn’t take anything for granted.
Award Bookings
The best currency to use when booking Qatar Airways flights is probably American’s AAdvantage miles (on sale right now) and a round trip fare between Boston and Doha will cost 140,000 miles (70,000 miles one-way).
The good news here is that, for now at least, Business Class Saver awards on this route are wide open and bookable in either direction:
Here’s Business Class Saver Award availability for Boston – Doha in April:
And here’s April’s Business Class Saver Award availability in the opposite direction:
Award availability for the following months looks pretty similar.
It’s important to note that there hasn’t been any formal announcement from Qatar Airways to let us know that this is happening so changes are possible but, based on what we’ve seen a lot of other routes which now operate with Qsuites Business Class, this doesn’t mean all that much – Qatar Airways hasn’t bothered to announce the introduction of Qsuites Business Class on at least half the routes on which it now offers the product.
