The latest news out of Alaska Airlines tells us that starting this fall, it will operate seven new routes to/from Southern California. Five of the routes will be operated year-round while the remaining two will operate for the winter season only.
New year-round routes:
- Burbank – Eugene
- Burbank – Pasco
- Burbank – Redmond
- Ontario – Boise
- Orange County – Spokane
New winter 2025/26 routes:
- Palm Springs – Santa Rosa
- San Diego – Sun Valley
Here’s what the schedules look like:
Burbank – Eugene
AS3259 BUR 09:13 – 11:38 EUG (Daily)
AS3260 EUG 12:18 – 14:42 BUR (Daily)
This route will launch on 26 October 2025.
Burbank – Pasco
AS3101 BUR 15:22 – 17:58 PSC (Daily)
AS3102 PSC 18:38 – 21:26 BUR (Daily)
This route will launch on 26 October 2025 and, a little surprisingly, will complement the daily LAX – Pasco service that Alaska Airlines also offers (which is still in the schedules). I had no idea there was so much demand for flights to Pasco from the Los Angeles area.
Burbank – Redmond
AS3224 BUR 11:24 – 13:43 RDM (Daily)
AS3223 RDM 14:23 – 16:56 BUR (Daily)
This route will launch on 26 October 2025.
Ontario – Boise
AS2340 ONT 18:22 – 21:39 BOI (Daily)
AS2339 BOI 16:30 – 17:42 ONT (Daily)
This route will launch on 7 January 2026.
Orange County – Spokane
AS2338 SNA 11:15 – 14:15 GEG (Daily)
AS2337 GEG 16:30 – 19:16 SNA (Daily)
This route will launch on 7 January 2026.
Palm Springs – Santa Rosa
AS3061 PSP 13:21 – 15:11 STS (Mon & Thu – Sun)
AS3062 STS 11:09 – 12:59 PSP (Mon & Thu – Sun)
This route will launch on 26 October 2025 and will operate for the 2025/26 winter season.
San Diego – Sun Valley
AS2361 SAN 10:30 – 14:01 SUN (Wed, Fri, & Sun)
AS2362 SUN 14:50 – 16:15 SAN (Wed, Fri, & Sun)
This route will launch on 18 December 2025 and will operate for the 2025/26 winter season.
The aircraft
All seven of these new routes are being operated by SkyWest Airlines as Alaska SkyWest or Horizon Air as AlaskaHorizon using Embraer ERJ 175 aircraft.
Per the seat maps on the Alaska Airlines website, the ERJ175 offers 12 First Class seats in a 1-2 layout, 16 Premium Class seats in a 2-2 layout, and 44 regular Economy Class seats in a 2-2 layout.
According to Aerolopa, these are the seat dimensions on this aircraft:
- First Class – Pitch 37.8″/Width 20″
- Premium Class – Pitch 33.8″/Width 18.2″
- Economy Cabin – Pitch 30.3″/Width 18.2″
Clearly, the First and Premium Class seating should be fine, but given that these flights are all showing flight times of at last 2 hrs 15 mins (and given that one is showing at 3 hours), the 30″ pitch in the Economy Class cabin could be problematic if you are tall or ‘large’ and find yourself having to stay in your seat for 3+ hours.
Something to note
Alaska Airlines offers a subscription-based service for flights covering select cities in California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah (with a very heavy bias in favor of California) that it calls ‘Flight Pass’, but none of these new routes are included in the Flight Pass program. Hopefully, they’ll get added in the not too distant future (although, we haven’t seen this list updated for quite some time).

Bottom line
Alaska Airlines has announced that it’s adding seven new routes to/from Southern California this winter with five of those routes being year-round and two being for the winter 2025/26 season.
The route will launch between 26 October 2025 and 7 January 2026 and will be operated by Embraer E175 aircraft operated by Horizon Air or SkyWest Airlines.
