I haven’t seen a decent set of Chase spending offers for longer than I care to remember, but an email which dropped into my inbox a little earlier today tells me that some holders of the World of Hyatt Business card are being targeted for a spending offer which could net them 10,000 bonus points.
The promotion
For the promotion that I’ve been targeted for, cardholders are getting an email with the subject line “Special invitation: [your name], you’re eligible to earn an additional 10,000 World of Hyatt Bonus Points for your business”.
The email goes on to say “earn an additional 10,000 World of Hyatt Bonus Points when you spend $10,000 on purchases made with your World of Hyatt® Business Card between September 1, 2025 and November 30, 2025.”
You need to activate this offer before you can earn the bonus points, but if you haven’t received the email with the activation button, you can check to see if your Ink business card has been targeted by visiting this webpage and filling in your details.
Key terms
- To be eligible for this bonus offer, you must activate by 11/30/25 11:59 p.m. E.T.
- You will qualify for and receive your bonus if you make Purchases with your credit card that total an amount at or above the specified target amount during the promotional period.
- Purchases posted to your account with a transaction date during the offer period are eligible for this offer.
- Delays by the merchant could extend the transaction date beyond the offer period.
- “Purchases” do not include balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable
- To qualify for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment.
- This bonus offer is non-transferable and applies only to cardmembers who receive marketing communications for this offer.
Full terms and conditions can be found on the offer page (assuming that you’ve been targeted).
Thoughts
10,000 bonus World of Hyatt points for $10,000 of spending is (obviously) one bonus point for every dollar of spending you make (as long as you spend $10,000) and for some, that may be a nice added bonus.
There are two key things to keep in mind here – the card’s earning rates and the elite night credits that the card offers.
Considering the earning rates
These are the card’s earning rates:
- 4 points/dollar for spending made with Hyatt.
- 2 points/dollar in your top three spending categories each quarter as long as the spending categories are on this list:
- Dining
- Shipping
- Airline tickets when purchased directly with the airline
- Local transit & Commuting
- Social Media & Search Engine Advertising
- Car Rental Agencies
- Gas stations
- Internet, Cable & Phone Services
- 2 points/dollar spent on gym/fitness club memberships.
- 1 point/dollar on all other eligible spending.
If you can make sure that you restrict your spending to categories where the World of Hyatt Business credit card already offers bonus points, spending $10,000 on this card to lock in the bonus may be rewarding.
Using the TFM valuation of Hyatt points (1.4 cents each), the extra point per dollar spent would represent an extra effective rebate of 1.4% and 7% back at Hyatt properties and 4.2% back in a few other categories may be tempting.
Also, 2 points per dollar (including the bonus) for what would normally be unbonused spending may also be attractive, but keep in mind that if you find yourself diverting spending to the World of Hyatt Business card just to hit this offer’s spending target and you’re diverting that spending from cards that would have earned you a better return, that’s an opportunity cost that you’ll need to account for.
Considering the elite night credits
It may be that the extra point per dollar that promotion is offering isn’t particularly attractive to you in isolation, but it may be attractive if you factor in the fact that this card earns card holders 5 elite night credits for every $10,000 of eligible spending.
A targeted cardholder who triggers the bonus points would also earn 5 elite night credits, and if that’s going to help them qualify (or requalify) for meaningful World of Hyatt status, the 10,000 bonus points would just be the icing on the cake.
Bottom line
Some holders of the World of Hyatt Business card are being targeted for a deal which would see them earn 10,000 bonus points when they spend at least $10,000 on their card by the end of November.
For some this will be a nice little bonus while for others it will be a bonus that’s not worth going for and which group of people you fall into will depend on what sort of spending you’re planning to do in the next 3 months.
