It’s no secret that the very best Qatar Airways Business Class deals can usually be found for departures from Europe’s Nordic countries but we have been seeing a few more reasonable Qatar Airways Business Class deals out of the US recently.

A Qatar Airways USA Business Class sale ended just recently but there still appear to be at least a couple of good deals around if you’re looking to try out the airline’s highly acclaimed Qsuites cabin.

Qatar Airways A350-1000 Qsuites

New York JFK – Athens (Greece) From $2,471

Note: a similar fare is available out of Philadelphia.

Ok, let’s get the big thing out of the way first:

No, clearly this isn’t the most efficient way to get to Athens and I’m not claiming that it is – this is a fare that’s going to appeal to those specifically looking to try out the Qsuites (for the longer sectors of the journey) and to anyone looking to give their American Airlines AAdvantage accounts a significant boost.

The best way to find the fare is by using Google Flights but once you find dates that work for you you’ll find that the Qatar Airways website offers you a better choice of flights than you’ll find on Google Flights (I have no idea why).

Here’s an example itinerary.

As Qatar Airways only operates Qsuite equipped aircraft between New York and Doha (at the time of writing) you’re guaranteed to get the airline’s premium Business Class seats on these sectors of your trip.

Between Doh and Athens the airline operates a mixture of aircraft including A330’s (reviewed here) and A320s (reviewed here) – neither offer Qsuites and neither offer all-aisle-access cabins.

The fare availability isn’t fantastic but as long as you can be a little flexible in the dates you can travel you should be able to find something which works.

What you see below is available for 7-night trips

There are only a very few dates offering availability between now and the end of December 2019 and 2020 get off to a very slow start too:

…and while great fare availability in May is ok, it’s non-existent in June.

But it comes back in July and August 2020.

Chicago – Bangkok From $2,784

Just like the JFK – Athens fare, this may not be the most efficient way to get to Bangkok but it’s definitely going to be one of the most comfortable…and with this fare it’s possible to book the Qsuites for all the flights in an itinerary (you just have to be careful which flights you choose to book).

You may wish to find dates that work best for you via sites like ITA Matrix and Google Flights but, once again, I found that the Qatar Airways website offered a better choice of flights at the lowest cost.

a screenshot of a flight scheduleAll Qatar Airways flights between Chicago and Doha offer Qsuites Business Class but only select flights between Doha and Bangkok offer the same cabin so you need to e a little careful when choosing your connecting flights.

The itinerary you see above would see a passenger enjoying Qsuites Business Class on all 4 sectors of their journey but it’s possible to sample a regular A350 Business Class cabin (reviewed here) and a regular 777 Business Class cabin (reviewed here) between Doha and Bangkok as well.

Availability for this fare is a lot better than it is for the fare between JFK and Athens and you’ll find the fare appearing in the schedules from November 2019 (on just a few dates)…

…and then again in January 2020 on a limited number of dates…

…before becoming easier to find from February and March 2020

Bottom Line

From what I can see, the only notable restriction on these fares is that they need to be booked by 9 December 2019 but, having sais that, I wouldn’t wait that long if you find dates that work well for you.

I made a foolish error a few months back when I forgot that a published fare expiration date didn’t mean that an airline couldn’t pull the fare earlier and I ended up missing out on a great deal to Bangkok and Siem Reap as a result.

Overall these fares may not look great when compared to the Qatar Airways fares we frequently see out of cities like Stockholm, Oslo, and Helsinki…but these fares need to be viewed in context.

For Qatar Airways Business Class fares out of the US these fares are very good indeed.
