New Singapore Airlines Spontaneous escapes deals are live (30% off November 2024 award travel)

It’s the middle of the month, so Singapore Airlines has published its latest set of KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes deals. As usual, the airline is offering KrisFlyer members 30% off award bookings on select routes (in its Economy, Premium Economy, and Business class cabins) and as usual, the value on offer will vary from route to route.

Headline terms & conditions

• Book by 31 October 2024 (23:59 hrs Local Time).
• Travel between 1 and 30 November 2024 (blackout dates may apply).
• Get a 30% discount on select award bookings.
• One-way and round-trip awards are permissible.
• Taxes and fees will be charged.

The deals

It starting to get hard to call these ‘sets of deals’ if you’re based outside of Asia as Singapore Airlines continues to show a great reluctance to reduce the cost of Business Class and Premium Economy reward flights on most of its routes to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, or North America.

This month, there are no Business Class deals to/from Africa or the Middle East, and there’s just a single one-way Business Class deal for Europe and the US.

As far as Premium Economy deals go, things look marginally better if you want to travel to/from Europe (two round trip and two one-way deals), but with no deals to/from Africa or the Middle East and with North America only getting a single one-way deal and the Southwest Pacific only getting two deals, it means that there are still only seven routes outside of Asia on which these deals are available. That’s hardly something that’s worth celebrating.

Note: The costs you’ll see indicated below are for one-way travel excluding taxes and fees.

Keep in mind

The Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program is a transfer partner for all four major transferable currencies (from Chase, Citi, Amex, and Capital One), so if any of the deals that you see below would work well for you but you don’t have a healthy KrisFlyer balance, you should be able to top up your KrisFlyer account from one or more sources.

Business Class deals

Southeast Asia Routes:

In this set of Spontaneous Escapes, there are eight Business Class deals on offer for travel within Southeast Asia and they’re almost exactly the same deals as we saw last month (no Cebu this time around but a one-way deal to Medan takes its place):

In this set of Spontaneous Escapes, there are, essentially just two Business Class deal on offer for travel within North Asia (one more than last month). Beijing appears as a destination twice, but that’s still just one deal to our minds.

European Routes:

There’s just one Spontaneous Escapes deal that touches Europe this month and as seems to be more and more usual, its for one-way travel only:

USA & Canada Routes:

The one Spontaneous Escape Business Class deal which involves travel to/ from the United States is one that’s already covered in the Europe section:

There is just one Premium Economy Class deal for travel within this region  in this set of Spontaneous Escapes (there were two last month) and it’s a deal that covers one-way travel only

There are two Premium Economy Class deals for travel within this region (two fewer than last time out) but both are for round trip travel while all the deals last month were for one-way travel only.

Bottom line

As usual, how these deals are viewed will vary from person to person (depending on people’s travel plans) but for most readers of this site, this month’s offers are, at best, very disappointing. If you’re not looking to book flights within Asia for travel in October, there probably won’t be very much in this dest of Spontaneous Escapes that interests you.

Full Terms and Conditions per Singapore Airlines:

1. The KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes promotion (“Promotion”) is organized by Singapore Airlines Limited (“SIA”). The promotion is open to KrisFlyer members (“Participants”) for the online redemption of Promo Awards in Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class on selected Singapore Airlines operated flights. Please refer to the list of eligible flights above. The promotion is not valid for codeshare flights.
2. Eligible bookings can only be made through singaporeair.com or the SingaporeAir mobile app. This promotion is not available through KrisFlyer Membership Services, SIA Ticket Offices, travel agents, or any other channels.
3. To qualify for the Promotion, tickets must be issued between 15 October 2024 (0900 hrs, Local Time) and 31 October 2024 (2359 hrs, Local Time) (“Promotion Period”), both dates inclusive, for travel from 1 November 2024 (0000 hrs, Local Time) to 30 November 2024 (2359hrs, Local Time) for all destinations.
4. If (i) any part of the itinerary is confirmed after the Promotion Period; (ii) or falls outside the applicable Travel Period; and/or (iii) contains an ineligible flight, the entire itinerary will not be eligible for the promotion. Please split your bookings for travel within and outside the promotional travel period.
5. Waitlist redemption is not available for all flights offered in this Promotion.
6. Any change is strictly not permitted for bookings made under this promotion. Cancellation is also not permitted for partially unused or totally unused tickets.
7. For (i) any flights cancelled by SIA, or (ii) if a SQ-operated flight was removed from a Participant’s booking due to Covid-19 and governmental regulatory changes, the miles redeemed in the unused portion of the ticket will be refunded into the relevant Participant’s KrisFlyer account with no additional fees charged. However, requests to change any booking details, or to retain the ticket for future use will not be granted. Participants may submit their request via the Assistance Request form.
8. This promotion cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion.
9. This promotion is applicable to one-way and round-trip travel. No stopovers are allowed for this promotion.
10. Taxes and fees are applicable in addition to the required redemption mileage and paid for separately by the passenger in the applicable currency. Taxes and fees are separately charged and payable and are not subject to any discount.
11. The Promotion will only apply to tickets purchased entirely with KrisFlyer miles. It does not apply to commercial tickets purchased with part miles, part cash.
12. The 30% discount level is only applied on the number of KrisFlyer miles required for an Economy Class Saver, Premium Economy Class Saver and/or Business Class Saver award ticket. The 30% discount will be displayed upon selection of eligible flight(s) under the Promo Awards category during booking on singaporeair.com.
13. All redemptions are subject to seat availability at the time of booking.
14. By participating in the Promotion, each Participant agrees to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions, SIA’s conditions of use of website, SIA’s Privacy Policy, and the KrisFlyer Terms and Conditions (collectively, “SIA Terms & Conditions”). Non-compliance with or breach of any of these SIA Terms and Conditions may result in the Participant being disqualified at any stage of the Promotion, and any discounts on KrisFlyer miles redemptions awarded may be forfeited, withheld, withdrawn or reclaimed.
15. All decisions made by SIA, in respect to any matter relating to this Promotion shall be final. SIA reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions, terminate or otherwise amend this Promotion, including any amendments to the eligible destinations, eligible flights, promotional dates and travel dates in this Promotion, without prior notice at its sole and absolute discretion.
16. To the extent permitted under applicable law, SIA will not be responsible or liable for any consequences that any Participant may suffer (including without limitation any damage, loss, injury or disappointment) by participating in the Promotion.
17. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.
