The card_name is a no annual fee card aimed at small businesses looking to maximize their earnings every time they make a purchase. While a number of other business cards offer great earning rates in very specific shopping categories, this card’s party trick is that it offers a good earning rate regardless of which category a user is shopping in.

The card_name

In brief

The card_name is a great card that comes with a annual_fees annual fee, that offers a solid rate of cash back on all eligible spending, and whose cash back can be can be converted to valuable Chase Ultimate Rewards points (1% cash back = 1 point) if the cardholder also holds the card_name (annual_fees/year), the card_name (annual_fees/year) or the card_name (review) (annual_fees/year).

In detail

Here’s what you need to know about the card_name:

Annual fee

  • annual_fees

Cost of additional/employee cards:

  • $0

Current welcome bonus:

bonus_miles_full

Earning rate:

  • Earn 1.5% cash back on all spending made using the card_name (converts to 1.5 points/dollar if you also hold a Chase Sapphire card or the card_name)

Key benefits:

  • Primary auto rental cover when renting for business purposes
  • Purchase protection – covers new purchases for 120 days against damage or theft up to $10,000 per claim and $50,000 per account
  • Extended warranty protection
  • Roadside dispatch

Why this is a great card

The welcome offer

The $750 cash back that the card_name offers all successful applicants after they spend $6,000 on purchases in the first 3 months, is a great bonus to be offered.

The card has a annual_fees annual fee, so as long as a cardholder doesn’t carry a balance that results in interest charges being incurred (carrying a balance on a rewards card is a very bad idea), the money the welcome bonus is offering can be theirs for no extra cost.

Also, it’s worth keeping in mind that the cash back from the  welcome offer can be taken as 75,000 Ultimate Rewards Points if a holder of the card_name also holds one of the Chase Sapphire cards or the card_name so, as I value Ultimate Rewards Points at 1.5 cents each (based on the value I know that I can get out of them with ease), the welcome bonus could be said to be worth up to $1,125.

That’s a very impressive return from a welcome offer on a credit card with a annual_fees annual fee.

The earning rate

The card_name is a card that’s designed to be used for spending in categories where other cards don’t offer more than 1 point/dollar or 1% cash back/dollar, and the unlimited 1.5% cash back that this card offers is one of the better non-bonused earning rates offered by a small business card.

If a holder of the card_name also holds a Sapphire consumer card or the card_name, the 1.5% cash back on offer can be converted to 1.5 Ultimate Rewards points/dollar, which, based on my valuation (1.5 cents/point), is equivalent to a 2.25% rate of return. That’s fantastic.

Primary auto rental cover

Unlike a lot of credit cards, the card_name offers cardholders primary auto rental cover when the rental company’s collision insurance is declined, the rental is for business purposes, and the entire rental cost is charged to the card.

Considering how many small businesses require their employees (and owners) to rent cars, this can be an incredibly useful benefit to have.

The power pairing

A small business owner who pairs their card_name with the fantastic card_name (review) would pay a total annual fee of just annual_fees and have access to all of the following earning rates and benefits:

3 Ultimate Rewards points/dollar on the first $150,000 spent in combined purchases in the following categories each anniversary year:

  • Travel
  • Shipping purchases
  • Internet, cable, and phone services
  • Advertising purchases made with social media sites and search engines

1.5% cash back or 1.5 Ultimate Rewards points/dollar on spending in all other categories.

  • Primary auto rental cover
  • Cell Phone protection
  • Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption insurance
  • Purchase protection
  • Extended warranty protection
  • Roadside dispatch

In addition, the cardholder would have access to all the benefits of the Chase Ultimate Rewards program including the ability to transfer points to 11 airline partners and 3 hotel partners in a 1:1 ratio (details), and the ability to get 1.25 cents/point in value when they spend their points on travel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal.

That is a phenomenal amount of value for just annual_fees/year in annual fees – the cell phone protection alone is probably worth more than that – and the ability for a cardholder to earn a minimum effective rebate of 2.25% on any spending made shouldn’t be underestimated.

Bottom line

On its own, the card_name from Chase is a great cashback card to use for all spending for which other cards don’t offer a bonus. However, when combined with one of the Chase Sapphire cards or the card_name, it becomes part of a fantastic pairing that opens up an incredible number of great earning opportunities across a wide variety of spending categories.

Quite simply, the card_name is one of the best annual_fees annual fee credit cards around and a card that can be put to great use in most wallets – click to find out how to apply.
