Southwest announces new Hawaii routes from Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix & San Diego

At the beginning of February, Southwest announced seven new routes out of Long Beach, and just a few days later the airline doubled down on its West Coast expansion when it announced new routes out of Santas Barbara and Fresno. Now the airline is back with more good news for West Coasters as it announces a series of new flights to Hawaii from Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix & San Diego.

Southwest’s West Coast – Hawaii expansion

Southwest has confirmed that it plans to offer four new routes to/from Hawaii from each of Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Phoenix and three new routes out of San Diego for a total of 15 new services that are all set to launch this year. Southwest will also be boosting the existing service between San Diego and Honolulu as well as adding more Hawaii flights out of San Jose, Long Beach, and Oakland.

New Las Vegas services

Honolulu (Oahu)

Southwest will operate a new route between Las Vegas and Honolulu up to twice daily starting on 6 June. As things stand, this is what the schedule will look like when the route launches:

WN958 LAS 08:20 – 11:40 HNL (Daily)
WN1168 LAS 18:15 – 21:35 HNL (Daily)

WN932 HNL 07:10 – 15:55 LAS (Daily)
WN4813 HNL 15:15 – 00:10- LAS (Daily)

This route is set to be operated by a Boeing 737 MAX8 aircraft

Kahului (Maui)

Southwest will operate a new route between Las Vegas and Kahului (Maui) up to twice daily starting on 27 June. As things stand, this is what the schedule will look like when the route launches:

Southwest will operate a new daily service between Los Angeles and Honolulu from 6 June before adding a second daily flight from 27 June. As things stand, this is what the schedule looks like from the point at which the second daily flight is added:

Southwest boosts existing Hawaii routes

As well as all the extra flights detailed above, Southwest has committed to boosting its existing Hawaii services out of San Jose, Long Beach, and Oakland.

  • San Jose will be getting a second daily flight to Maui from 6 June
  • The route between Long Beach and Honolulu will be going twice daily between 27 June and 6 September.
  • Southwest will offer three daily flights between Oakland and Honolulu between 6 June and 6 September.

Keep in mind
