I was in Abu Dhabi last week and, although I did primarily go out there to get a couple of days of sun, one of my big aims for the trip was to visit the Sheikh Zayed Mosque that I’d heard quite a bit about (it’s partly why I chose to stay at the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi which is just across the road from the Mosque and runs a half-hourly shuttle).
My photos really don’t do this building justice but, hopefully, they’ll give you some idea of the size and grandeur of the mosque – it’s really is something to behold. If you’re ever visiting Abu Dhabi, forget everything else…just make sure this is at the top of your list of places to visit. It’s well worth any effort.
