Hilton for Business launched at the beginning of the year, but it looks like the the program may not (yet) be recruiting the number that Hilton has originally hoped as it’s currently running a very generous double elite night credits promotion that runs through the end of the year.

Hilton for Business

This is how Hilton describes the program:

Hilton for Business is a self-service program created for small and medium businesses to seamlessly book corporate travel with a discounted rate, earn Hilton Honors Points, and gain access to exclusive tools.

• Business travelers enjoy a simple and efficient way to book their stays at participating Hilton hotels worldwide while earning the powerful Honors Points and benefits that Hilton provides.

• Your business earns bonus Hilton Honors Points with each stay booked with the Hilton for Business rate and completed by your employees participating in the program.

• Account owners and administrators can view business travel booked through Hilton for Business, manage members, and more.

Effectively, it’s Hilton’s version of the Hyatt Leverage program.

Who can join?

This is a program aimed at small and medium businesses around the world, so you’ll need to have a business email address to participate.

Hilton will send a verification code to this email address before you can fully register, and the terms and conditions are clear in saying that free email addresses (e.g. Gmail or Yahoo will not be accepted).

All applicants to the program must be members of the Hilton Honors program and once a business is registered, the business owner can invite employees to join and set up account administrators.

Employees must be able to provide an email address attached to the business’ domain, but this email address does not have to be the same as the address attached to their Hilton Honors accounts.

It’s worth noting that Hilton seems to take note of who’s attempting to register for its business program as registrations isn’t always automatic.

This is the message we saw when registering:

It’s unclear what ‘additional details’ Hilton will be checking to verify the account, but that should act as a warning to anyone thinking of signing up using false credentials.

The benefits

  • Access to an exclusive discounted rate at any participating Hilton hotel worldwide. Not only can this rate offer savings over other rates that Hilton offers, but it can also be more flexible. This rate will be offered on the booking page so members can compare the value it offers to the other available rates.
  • A business that enrolls in Hilton for Business program will receive 7,500 bonus Hilton Honors bonus points after any enrolled employee (or business owner) completes their first stay on an eligible rate
  • For every 10 nights that enrolled members book using an eligible rate, the business will receive 5,000 Hilton Honors bonus points.
  • Employees and business owners continue to earn Hilton Honors points and elite status credits in their personal accounts as usual.

Be aware that any points earned with through the Hilton for Business program are deposited in the business’ account and from there, must be transferred to an individual member for redemption. The business cannot redeem the points.

Double elite night credits promotion

This is just about as simple as hotel promotions get and there’s very little that anyone needs to do:

Owners and employees who have successfully been accepted into the Hilton for Business program will automatically earn double elite night credits for all eligible stays consumed through 31 December 2024.

Key terms of the promotion

  • Offer valid for stays that occur July 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024 (“promotion period”) at any hotel or resort within the Hilton portfolio.
  • Enrollment in the Hilton for Business program must occur prior to stay checkout for the stay to be eligible for double night credit.
  • Double night credit means one additional, tier qualifying night credit will be awarded for each night stayed in the promo period.
  • Owners and employees of the Hilton for Business program will receive double night credit for all nights that occurred in the promotion period, regardless of a check-in date before the promotion period begins or a check-out date after the promotion period ends.
  • Double nights will count towards Hilton Honors members’ 2024 night count and will be eligible for rollover night credit.
  • Double nights do not count toward Hilton for Business milestone bonuses or fast track promotions.
  • There is no limit to the total amount of double night credits that may be earned during the promotion period with this offer.
  • Please allow six to eight weeks from completion of your stay for night credits to appear in your Hilton Honors account.
  • A ‘stay’ is defined as the total number of consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, whether or not a guest checks out and checks back in again.
  • Offer is not valid for groups and cannot be combined with other select offers.

Quick thoughts

If you have access to US credit cards, because you can enjoy Hilton Gold elite status just by holding The Platinum Card® from American Express or Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card and top-tier Diamond elite status just by holding the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card (terms apply) this double elite night promotion may not be massively valuable to you.

For everyone else, however, who has to earn Hilton status the hard way …

  • Silver Elite – 4 stays or 10 elite night credits
  • Gold Elite – 20 stays or 40 elite night credits or 75,000 base points.
  • Diamond Elite – 30 stays or 60 elite night credits or 120,000 base points.

… this could be a useful promotion.

Note: All information about the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card has been collected independently by Traveling For Miles. The Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card is not currently available through Traveling For Miles.

There are three key things to keep in mind here.

Firstly, there’s nothing in the terms and conditions which says that to earn the double elite night credits, a member must book using a Hilton for Business rate. Cash rates and even reward night bookings will earn double elite night credits.

Secondly, the double elite night credits offered by this promotion will not count towards any fast track promotion (like the one we discuss here).

Thirdly, the double elite night credits from this promotion will be eligible for rollover credit at the end of the year, so this promotion may help some members retain elite status easier next year.

Bottom line

This is your reminder that the Hilton for Business program (which launched in January) is currently giving all members of the program double elite night credits on stays consumed though the end of the year.

No registration is required (Hilton takes care of that) and if you’re eligible for the Hilton for Business program, this could be an easy way to earn/retain elite status if you’re not already getting it with ease through a credit card’s benefits package.
