United Airlines has just launched a pretty fantastic set of discounts for anyone looking to use their MileagePlus miles to get to Tahiti. For today only (February 8 2019) MileagePlus members can book roundtrip Economy Class travel to Tahiti from just 42,000 miles.

The biggest discounts are open to holders of United Chase Visa cards. but every is eligible for a discount.

United’s “Love Is In The Airfare” Deal

The Headline Terms & Conditions:

  • This offer for discounted Saver Awards is available to all MileagePlus members.
  • Discounted Saver Award is only valid for roundtrip travel in United Economy from the mainland U.S., Alaska and Canada to Papeete (PPT).
  • Tickets must be booked no later than 11:59 p.m. local time of origin airport (first departure airport) on February 8, 2019.
  • Offer is valid for travel beginning on or after March 26, 2019, and completed on or before May 30, 2019.
  • No blackout dates apply.
  • Discounted Saver Award is combinable with other award types as long as the itinerary is roundtrip (e.g., a member can book a Standard Award for the outbound portion of an itinerary and a Saver Award for the return portion, or vice versa) but only the flight segments purchased with a qualifying Saver Award will be eligible for a discount.
  • For this offer, “roundtrip” is defined as travel from an origin city to a destination city with return travel ending at the origin city, and with all segments on flights operated by United Airlines®. A segment is defined as one takeoff and one landing.
  • Open-jaw itineraries within the same region do not qualify for the discount.
  • Stopovers are not permitted.
  • A booking service charge may apply for travel booked less than 21 days before departure.

  • Non-cardmembers 70,000 miles 52,500 miles + taxes and fees from $57

Flyers with Premier Platinum or Premier 1K status:

  • United Chase Visa Cardmembers 70,000 miles 42,000 miles + taxes and fees from $57
  • Non-cardmembers 70,000 miles 49,000 miles + taxes and fees from $57

Bottom Line

Get on this RIGHT AWAY if this is a deal that interests you because availability (what there is of it) will go very quickly.

The travel dates are quite restrictive (essentially just April and May) but that should cover spring break so there’s a good chance a lot of people can make use of this deal.
