It’s been a while since Hyatt last launched a global promotion, but if you were hoping that this meant that the hotelier was gearing up to offer us something exciting and potentially lucrative, prepare to be disappointed.

The promotion

This is what the bonuses look like:

Quick thoughts

It may simply be because I’m disappointed that this promotion has arrived just a week after I completed a 5-night stay at a Hyatt Place property, and it may just be because I have no further Hyatt Place/House/Studios stays booked before 7 September, but I can’t help but feel that this is a super weak promotion for Hyatt to come up with.

Sure, if you happen to be planning one or more stays at Hyatt’s limited service properties, the potential to earn up to 16,000 bonus points will be a welcome one and, if I’m being fair, I have to admit that the earning rate is pretty good.

Based on our valuation of Hyatt points (which is currently 1.4 cents/point), these bonus point milestones would see guests who make eligible stays earning effective rebates of $42 after 3 nights, $70 after 5 nights, and $112 after 8 nights for a possible total rebate of $224.

That’s not bad … especially if you’re able to book some of the cheaper rates that some of these properties offer.

For anyone planning to stay at one or more of Hyatt’s other 30 brands, however, this promotion is a bust as there’s absolutely no bonus on offer at all.

Still, I can’t say that I’m surprised.

Publishing weak promotions has become a bit of a trend for Hyatt (which is a shame as Hyatt promotions used to be something to which we could look forward), and a little over a year ago I discussed why I think this is the case and why I think Hyatt can get away with it. Not much has changed since then.

If anything, the fact that we’ve recently seen IHG and Hilton both publish their own woefully unrewarding promotions and the fact that Marriott appears to be sitting things out, will probably have given Hyatt even less reason to come up with anything good of its own.

We can hope for something better to be published in the fall, but if the current travel trends continue (higher-end travel doing just fine but lower-end travel suffering), that may be an overly optimistic hope to have.

Bottom line

Hyatt has announced details of its new promotion which is already live and which covers stays taken between 10 June and 7 September 2025. The promotion will is offering World of Hyatt members up to 16,000 bonus points when they stay up to 8 nights at Hyatt Place, Hyatt House and Hyatt Studios properties around the world. There are no bonuses on offer for stays made at any of Hyatt’s other brands.

Important: Keep in mind that only stays that take place after registration will earn the bonus points so make sure you register as soon as possible to avoid finding yourself in a situation where you you’ve enjoyed an eligible stay, got home, and then remembered that you never got around to registering (it happens more often than you may think!)
