One of the principle reasons I hold as many American Express cards as I do is that I often get targeted for some highly lucrative offers via the Amex Offers section of my Amex account page. Recently these offers haven’t been so much about saving me money as about boosting my Membership Rewards balance very nicely indeed. Now the latest set of offers is out and there are some more great ones to choose from.

Back in June I essentially bought 1,000 Membership Rewards Points (MRPs) for $10 and I managed to earn quite a few thousand more thanks to a variety of offers that Amex has (and still is) running.

Two of the latest offers really stand out as, potentially, offering a fantastic way to earn a bucket load of MRPs:

Spend $1,000+ with airberlin & get 20,000 Membership Rewards Points

The offer headline mentions “flights to Europe” but a quick look at the full terms and conditions shows that this isn’t an actually restriction.

The transaction has to be made via airberlin.com (the US website) but, unlike other offers we’ve seen in the past (e.g. the Virgin Atlantic offer) there is no stipulation that the flight has to originate in the US.

There are a few restrictions so you can’t earn the bonus simply buy buying gift cards or points directly from the airline. It looks like you actually have to buy airfare.

Spend $500 with Amex Travel & get 7,500 Membership Rewards Points

There are various versions of this offer and some appear to offer as many as 10,000 MRPs for a $500 spend.

The offer isn’t quite as fantastic as it looks as the terms show it to be limited to hotel bookings only – flights are apparently excluded even if booked with a hotel as part of a package:

Get 7,500 additional Membership Rewards points one-time by using your enrolled Card to make a single purchase of $500+ for a prepaid hotel booking online at amextravel.com by 9/30/2017. Excludes Fine Hotels & Resorts bookings.

Offer not valid for the flight portion of a flight+hotel package.

Hotel bookings made through Amex Travel aren’t usually eligible for miles/points earnings in the various hotel loyalty programs and elite benefits are not usually honored for these bookings either – that’s going to put off quite a few people.

Other Offers (New & Ongoing)

These are the better offers Amex has posted recently (they’re recent for my accounts):

This last one is interesting as it shouldn’t be all that hard to earn the bonus points.

The terms say:

Get 1,000 additional Membership Rewards® points each time you use your enrolled Card to make a single payment of $100+ online to pay your US Cable or Satellite television bill by 11/15/2017. Limit of 3,000 additional MR points

Having a cable/satellite bill that’s over $100 isn’t exactly unusual (especially if it’s coupled with home internet) and it would take just 3 months of bills to hit the maximum bonus of 3,000 MRP – no spending outside of what you would have spent anyway is required.

Some ongoing offers that are worth re-posting:

These next two look interesting as it looks as if they should be stackable (15% off + 5,000 Hilton Honors Points + 3,500 MRPs):

If you’ve been targeted for a good Amex MRP offer that I haven’t listed above please share it in the comments section so the rest of us can get jealous when we realise we haven’t been targeted for it 🙂
