Bottom Line
It probably doesn’t need saying that the Caribbean is a great place to escape the East Coast winter so that may make some of these deal tempting.
I would concentrate on the resorts offering 30% off the leisure rate as that’s where the better value is to be had. I know the Aruba Marriott hotel very well indeed and, while it’s a really nice hotel (recently renovated) and in a great location, 20% off isn’t enough to get me excited.
The hotel that sticks out for me (and this is a purely personal preference) is the Renaissance Jargaua Santo Domingo. The hotel has been recently renovated and is getting some pretty good TripAdvisor reviews.
As always, it’s important to do your research and to see how much you can get these hotels at other times of the year and what you’re actually getting for your money – never book just because there’s a deal on. There will always be another deal around the corner so, if you’re not sure if a hotel or a price is for you, it probably isn’t. Move on to your next option or wait for a better deal.
