The JetBlue and American Airlines “Northeast Alliance” may still be facing a number of regulatory hurdles, but that doesn’t appear to have slowed down the number of new routes and added route frequencies that we’ve seen JetBlue bring to fruition in the past year. The latest announcement sees the airline confirming that it has lauched its newest leisure route between New York JFK and Mexico’s Pacific Coast.

JetBlue now serves Puerto Vallarta

As of Saturday, 19 February 2022, JetBlue now offers flights between New York JFK and Puerto Vallarta on Mexico’s west coast.

a map of the united states

Puerto Vallarta is JetBlue’s third destiantion in Mexico (it also serves Cancun and Los Cabos) and is being served 4x/week on the following schedule:

B62097 JFK 09:00 – 14:10 PVR (Mon, Wed, Sat & Sun)
B62098 PVR 15:26 – 21:31 JFK (Mon, Wed, Sat & Sun)

JetBlue is operating this service with a mix of A321neo and A320 aircraft which, according to the airline, all offer “the most legroom in coach; free and fast Fly-Fi broadband internet; complimentary and unlimited name-brand snacks and soft drinks; and free, live DIRECTV programming at every seat.

Unsurprisingly for a leisure route, JetBlue’s Mint Business Class cabin is not an option on flights to/from Puerto Vallarta.

Flights on the new route are currently on sale with a the airline promoting a limited time offer in which one way “Blue Basic” fares between JFK and Puerto Vallarta start from $99. Although not mentioned by the airline, the best fares in the opposite direction are a little more expensive so based on the searched that I’ve done, it looks like the cheapest roundtrip Blue Basic fares cost in the region of $230.

As far as I can tell, JetBlue hasn’t confirmed that this route will be operated year round but as the flights are appearing in the schedules past the end of October (albeit with very high prices), it looks like this route may continue to be an option into Winter 2022/23 and beyond.

Bottom line

This past weekend saw JetBlue launch its new route between New York JFK and Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. The route is operating 4x/week with fares starting at around $230 for a roundtrip Basic Economy booking.
