Ok, I’m very late with this news but blame email spam filters and not me – IHG One Rewards is emailing select members with an offer of double elite nights on their next two stays. The maximum bonus nights that you can earn is 14, but if you’re chasing IHG status or IHG milestones and have been targeted, that’s still a very nice boost to be given.
I wasn’t targeted for this promotion, but Joanna was and I’ve only just found the email in one of our spam folders. Here’s what the promotion says:
Register now for your exclusive offer and earn Bonus Elite Night Credits on your next two stays by 23 May 2024, up to 7 nights per stay.
Apparently, those who have been targeted have been emailed (so check your spam folders) but you should also be able to check if you’re eligible on the promotion registration page.
If you’re successful in registering, you’ll get confirmation on your screen as well as via email.
Key terms
- The ‘Up to 14 Bonus Elite Night Credits’ promotional offer (the ‘Offer’) provides you with an opportunity to earn one ‘Bonus Elite Night Credit’ for each Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay during the Offer Period, up to a maximum of seven (7) Bonus Elite Night Credits per stay following registration, on your next two qualifying stays.
- For each ‘Bonus Elite Night Credit’ you earn under the Offer, you will be credited with an additional Elite Qualifying Night for purposes of determining Elite membership status and Milestone Rewards earned under the IHG One Rewards programme in 2024.
- ‘Bonus Elite Night Credits’ do not qualify as Rollover Nights or as Qualifying Nights for any other purpose or benefit under the IHG One Rewards programme.
- To participate in this Offer, you must be an IHG One Rewards member and must be invited to participate.
- After receiving an invitation, you must register your member number in advance in order to be eligible for the Offer.
- The ‘Offer Period’ is from 28 March 2024 until 23 May 2024.
- After registering, a member can earn up to a maximum of fourteen Bonus Elite Night Credits under this Offer, as follows: one (1) Bonus Elite Night Credit will be awarded to the member’s IHG One Rewards account after a Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay during the Offer Period up to a maximum of seven (7) Bonus Elite Night Credits per qualifying stay following registration, on your next two stays. For example, if a member has a stay that results in a total of two (2) Offer-Qualifying Room Nights during the Offer Period, the member would earn two (2) Bonus Elite Night Credits. These Bonus Elite Night Credits are in addition to any base Elite Qualifying Nights the member earns for their stays. As a result, in the above example, in addition to the two (2) Bonus Elite Night Credits, the member would also be credited with two (2) base Elite Qualifying Nights, effectively giving the member credit for 4 Elite Qualifying Nights towards earning Elite status and Milestone Rewards in 2024.
- To be an ‘Offer-Qualifying Room Night’ under this Offer, the room night must fall within the Offer Period and must be part of a Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay.
- Room nights outside of the Offer Period are not included, and room nights that are part of a stay that was completed prior to registration for the Offer are also not included.
- For purposes of this Offer, a ‘Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay’ is defined as a minimum one (1) night stay at a participating hotel booked under a Qualifying Rate, with a total spend exceeding $30 USD (or local equivalent) per night and a check-out date within 45 days following the conclusion of the Offer Period.
- Participating hotels include all IHG® Hotels & Resorts, with the exception of those Six Senses® Hotels Resorts Spas and Iberostar Beachfront Resorts that do not participate in the IHG One Rewards programme.
- Stays booked using Reward Nights or Points & Cash are not Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stays for the purposes of this Offer.
- Bookings made through online travel agencies or other reservation sites such as booking.com or expedia.com also do not qualify under this Offer.
- If more than one member who registered for the Offer checks into the same room, only one member is eligible to earn Bonus Elite Night Credits under this Offer based on those nights that qualify.
- If a member books more than one room on the same night, the member will only receive credit towards this Offer for only one of the rooms that also meets the requirements of a Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay.

Quick thoughts
There’s not too much to digest here:
- You have until 23 May to get in as many nights as you can (up to 14) to max out the bonus elite nights on offer.
- Keep mind that reward night bookings will not count.
- Make sure that you register (if that’s not obvious to you this may not be the right hobby!)
- Any bonus elite night credits that you earn will not roll over into next year (so don’t expect them to).
Overall, this is a nice promotion to be given if you’re fortunate enough to be targeted as even if you’re not likely to earn enough elite nights this year to reach a high elite status, these bonus nights may help you earn one of IHGs milestone rewards which start at 20 nights (details here).
Don’t forget that IHG is also currently running a 2Q promotion in which its offering members 2,000 bonus points for every 2 qualifying nights through 31 May 2024, so if you haven’t done so already, register for that before you complete any stays.
Bottom line
IHG is targeting select members of its rewards program for a promotion that allows them to earn up to 14 bonus elite night credits for stays made through 23 May 2024.
