For flyers who don’t routinely get access to airport lounges courtesy of elite status or the fares they purchase, lounges that allow travelers to pay to access their facilities and programs that allow travelers to pay to access a variety of lounges without the need for an annual membership, can be very useful.
Lounge Pass is once such program, and thanks to its partnership with British Airways, travelers can earn Avios when they purchase lounge access through a dedicated page.
British Airways doesn’t sell access to its own lounges but if you’re considering purchasing access to a third party lounge or even select airline lounges, earning some Avios from your booking could be a good way to offset some of the cost.
What is Lounge Pass
Lounge Pass is, as its name suggests, a program that allows travelers to purchase lounge access if their airline status or cabin of travel don’t offer them access to a lounge before they travel.
Unlike a program like Priority Pass, Lounge Pass doesn’t offer annual membership options, but it does allow users to buy lounge access on an ad hoc basis
The Lounge Pass program includes over 600 airport lounges across 100+ countries and 350+ airports and although it’s often considered heavily weighted to the UK (where it has over 50 lounges), it also offers a good number of lounges across major airports in the United States and around the world.
USA examples include:
- Boston – Air France Lounge Terminal E & The Lounge Terminal C
- Dallas (DFW) – The Club DFW Terminal D & Plaza Premium Lounge Terminal E
- New York (JFK) – Primeclass Lounge T1 and Air India Lounge T4
- Orlando – The Club MCO (x2) & Plaza Premium Lounge Terminal C
- Seattle – The Club SEA (Concourse A & South Satellite)
This is far from being a definitive list of the lounges available in the US (Lounge pass has partners at 19 US airports) but, hopefully this gives you an idea of what’s on offer.
Worldwide examples include:
- Dubai (DXB) – Various options in Terminals 1, 2, & 3
- Cape Town – Bidvest Lounge x3
- Frankfurt (FRA) – LuxxLounge T1, Air France Lounge T2, Primeclass & Priority T2
- London (LHR) – Various lounges in Terminals 2, 3, 4, & 5
- London (LGW) – Various lounges in North & South Terminals
- Madrid – Various options in Terminals 1, 2, 3, & 4
- Maldives (MLE) – Moonimaa (International Domestic Terminal)
- Rome (FCO) – Plaza Premium T1 and T3 & Prima Vista T1 and T3
- Singapore – Marhaba, Plaza Premium, SATS Premier & Ambassador
- Sydney – Plaza Premium (Arrivals & Departures T1) + The House T1
Once again, this is far from a definitive list of the lounges available around the world (Lounge pass has partners in 111 countries/states other than the US and UK) but, hopefully this gives you an idea of what’s on offer.
