There’s a noticeable dearth of new travel offers in our Amex accounts, but one targeted offer that caught our eye this morning is for Hilton Honors co-branded card holders who can now earn 10,000 bonus Hilton points when they spend at least $300 with Delta.

Thoughts
For obvious reasons, this offer is only being targeted to Amex’s Hilton co-branded cards (it’s not clear if the Hilton Honors American Express Business Card is being targeted), so if you don’t hold one of those cards, you won’t find this offer in your online accounts.
As we value Hilton points at 0.4 cents each (based on the value we know we can get out of them with relative ease), the effective rebate we’re being offered here is $40.
That’s not as good as the offer for a $90 rebate on $450 of Delta spending that we wrote about a couple of weeks ago (and which should still be available), but if you’ve already used that offer and have more Delta spending coming up, this could be a good added bonus.
It’s also worth noting that the wording of the offer makes it clear that multiple transaction adding up to $300 or more will trigger the statement credit, and as that spending can be on upgrades, seat selection fees, baggage fees, standby fees, Delta Sky Club memberships as well as airfare purchases, this should be a relatively simple offer for most Delta flyers to trigger.

The targeted cards
Unfortunately, only one of the Hilton consumer cards has airline spending as a bonus category, so unless you hold the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card, your consumer card is not going to be rewarding you particularly well on top of the bonus that’s being offered.
Here’s what each of the consumer cards earns on spending made with airlines (terms apply):
- Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card – 7 points/dollar
- Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card – 3 points/dollar* (review)
- Hilton Honors American Express Card – 3 points/dollar* (review)
*These cards offer 3 points/dollar on all spending outside of their bonus categories.
If holders of The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card are also being targeted, they could earn 5 points/dollar for any spending made with Delta as their card earns 5 points/dollar on the first $100,000 of non-Hilton purchases every calendar year (3 points/dollar after that – terms apply)
What this means is that depending on what card you hold, you’ll earn an additional effective rebate of 1.2%, 2% or 2.4% when you use a Hilton Honors co-branded card to pay for your spending with Delta (assuming that you value Hilton points at 0.4 cents each)
Note: All information about the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card has been collected independently by Traveling For Miles. The Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card is not currently available through Traveling For Miles.
Bottom line
American Express is now offering select holders of Hilton co-branded credit cards the opportunity to earn 10,000 bonus Hilton points when they spend $300 or more (in one or more purchases) on select offerings from Delta.
Can anyone confirm if the Hilton Business card is being targeted?
