Almost exactly a year to the day we last saw this targeted offer appear (that was on 2 October 2023), Amex is again offering targeted cardholders a saving for spending made directly with Small Luxury Hotels of the World by the end of the year.

Quick thoughts

Just as we saw the last this deal was offered, the news here is all mostly good:

• Multiple transactions adding up to $300 or more will trigger the offer in the same way as a single transaction of $300 or more will trigger it.
• The offer is valid through the end of the year and that covers most of the upcoming holidays.
• The offer is valid on properties around the world and not just in the US/US Territories.
• The $100 rebate seems generous.
• The $300 spending target should be simple enough to achieve considering how much hotels are currently charging.

One slightly negative thing that I should point out, however, is that Hilton Honors elites probably won’t be able to use this offer AND earn Hilton points/enjoy elite benefits, as those are only offered on SLH bookings made directly through Hilton’s booking channels.

The terms of this offer specifically state that the rebate will only be triggered by eligible bookings made through SLH booking channels.

We’ve had the SLH offer targeted to all of our Membership Rewards cards so it looks like this offer should be widely available and isn’t narrowly targeted (holders of the Platinum Card® from American Express, the Amex EveryDay® Credit Card, the Business Platinum Card® from American Express and the Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express should all see this offer on one or more of these cards), and it looks like a lot of American Express® Green Card holders will be able to stack these offers with the 3 points/dollar that their card offers on worldwide travel (terms apply).

Bottom line

Among all the new targeted Amex offers launched today (it’s the start of a new month) is an offer for spending made at Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties in the Americas, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.

A rebate of $100 (up to 33%) is available, most SLH properties around the world appear to be participating, and you have up until the end of the year to lock in the savings so there’s not a lot to complain about here 🙂
