Aer Lingus has confirmed that its Dublin – Harford (CT) route will be returning next year following its suspension at the start of the Coronavirus pandemic. News of the returning route is the second US announcement that Aer Lingus has made recently following the news that Cleveland will be added to the airline’s network next summer.
Hartford is back on the Aer Lingus route map
On 26 March 2023, Aer Lingus will resume service between Dublin and Hartford, CT. At the time of writing, the schedule looks like this (but as with all airline schedules, is subject to change):
EI131 DUB 14:10 – 16:35 BDL (Daily)
EI130 BDL 18:00 – 05:15+1 day DUB (Daily)
The route will operate daily through the summer season with the final flights scheduled to take place and the end of October 2023.
Aer Lingus will operate its route to Hartford using its new A321LR aircraft which comes equipped with 16 lie-flat Business Class seats and 168 standard Economy Class seats.
The Business Class cabin will look a little familiar to anyone who has flown in JetBlue’s A321 Mint Cabin because the two are very similar.
As the seat map above shows, the best solo traveler seats are the seats in rows 3 and 5 (this aircraft doesn’t have a “row 1″) while there’s not much to separate the pairs of seats elsewhere in the cabin.
The news in Economy Class is mixed. On the one hand, the A321 offers standard Economy Class seats that are 18″ wide (generous for transatlantic Economy Class), while on the other hand, most of the seats offer just 31” of legroom…which is tight.
Seat in Economy Class rows 14 and 15 are the ones to book (if you can) because these are the A321LR’s exit rows so the seats here will offer considerably more legroom than those in the rows around them.
Bottom line
Aer Lingus will relaunch its seasonal route between Dublin and Hartford, CT on 26 March 2023 using its A321LR aircraft. Fares have already been loaded into the booking systems so if this is a route that interests you and you’re hoping to use Avios, now’s the time to check availability.
Fares from Dublin to Hartford start from €199 each way, including taxes and charges. For more information and to book flights to Hartford, visit www.aerlingus.com.
