My primary hotel chain is Hyatt and my back up chain is Marriott, and this means that I don't stay at Hilton properties very often. Despite this, however, I've found myself considering getting the costly Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card, and the more I think about it, the more sense getting the card seems to make.

 Frequent visitors to this site may have already seen our article coveringing hotel loyalty programs that offer lifetime elite status and our article that looks at whether or not lifetime elite status with hotel loyalty programs is a worthwhile thing to pursue, so a natural progression from those articles is to take a look at the credit cards that offer cardholders elite status with some of the major hotel chains as part of their overall package of benefits.

We have already taken a look at which of the major hotel loyalty programs offer members the chance to earn lifetime elite status, and as that information leads to questions asking how worthwhile lifetime status is and if lifetime elite status is something that you should actively be trying to earn, an article addressing these questions seemed appropriate.

Hotel elite status can be both vastly overrated and extremely useful depending on which status level and which hotel program we're discussing, and people's opinions can vary quite significantly. But, as a rule, having status is better than not having status, so people will go to varying degrees of effort to maintain their hotel privileges from year to year.

Following on from Best Western/SureStay offer that we wrote about earlier, we have a second useful travel offer from Amex that has appeared in our accounts. This deal is for Hilton properties in Las Vegas/Nevada and it's offering a saving of $100 on select stays that are paid for by 17 March 2025 (St. Patrick's day!).

There's a noticeable dearth of new travel offers in our Amex accounts, but one targeted offer that caught our eye this morning is for Hilton Honors co-branded card holders who can now earn 10,000 bonus Hilton points when they spend at least $300 with Delta.

Hilton's first major promotion of 2024 ended yesterday and in true Hilton fashion, its second global promotion of the year went live earlier today. This latest promotion runs to 2 September 2024 and, thankfully, is noticeably better than the one it is replacing.

Mostly, the restaurants and cafes that partner with Priority Pass are names that most people haven't heard of, but as I was looking through the list of recently added eateries on the Priority Pass website (I had jet lag and couldn't sleep!), I noticed that two Starbucks locations at airports in the UK have recently signed up.

Three of Hilton's co-branded credit cards have, historically, allowed cardholders to earn free night certificates that could be used at any Hilton property in the world...but only on weekends. Now, however, it looks like Hilton is turning a temporary, pandemic-induced enhancement into a permanent enhancement and making the certificates considerably more valuable.

Hilton Honors has announced that from next week it will be extending a "one-time opportunity" to its Diamond and Lifetime Diamond Elite status holders which will allow them to gift status for one year to a family member or friend.

London Heathrow Terminal 3 is home to most of the oneworld airlines (American Airlines, Qantas, JAL, Cathay Pacific, etc...) as well as to airlines such as Delta, Virgin Atlantic, and Emirates....and it's even the terminal that British Airways uses for the flights that it can't fit into its T5 home.
