Unless you’ve just woken up or have just got off an aircraft following a long and wifi-less flight, you’ll probably already know that the long awaited Platinum Card refresh was announced today with both the consumer and business cards getting makeovers and increased annual fees.

What you may or may not have realised, however, is that because all of the new Platinum Card benefits are already live, holders of the consumer Platinum Card should be able to make the most of two of the new benefits to save up to $175 as long as they act before the end of the month.

Two new benefits to maximise

Note: terms apply and enrolment is required.

Most of the credits now associated with the Platinum Card® from American Express are useable monthly, bi-annually, or annually, and for the purposes of this article, these credits are not relevant.

What are relevant, however, are two of the new benefits which are useable quarterly, and because we still have some time left before we hit the end the third quarter of 2025, both of these benefits/credits should be useable between now and 30 September (and then again between 1 October and 31 December).

Specifically, these benefits are the new LuluLemon credit and the new Resy credit.

Save on Lululemon purchases

The new Lululemon credit is worth $75 per quarter and can be triggered through purchases made directly at U.S. Lululemon stores (excluding lululemon Studio, outlet locations, warehouse, event locations, showroom and wholesale transactions), through purchases made online at the U.S. version of the Lululemon website, and through purchases made in the Lululemon app.

Keep in mind, however that we’re told that purchases of gift cards and purchases which are shipped outside the U.S. will not trigger the credit.

Get a credit for Resy spending

The new Resy credit that now comes as a Platinum Card benefit is worth $100/quarter and can be triggered by purchases made directly from U.S. restaurants that offer reservations on Resy.com and the Resy app and which accept American Express® Cards (obviously).

You don’t have to book through Resy to have the credit trigger, you just have to spend at Resy restaurants using your enrolled Platinum Card to earn a statement credit of up to $100 per quarter.

Make sure you enroll

Both of these new benefits require a cardholder to enrol before they can be used, so make sure you do that before you do any spending.

If you have an Amex Platinum Card associated with your account, you’ll probably see something like this on the Amex home page when you next go to login.

Login to your account, and use this link to view all of the Platinum Card benefits.

The Resy credit benefit is probably going to be hard to miss …

… but you’ll probably have to scroll quite a way down the page and expand the “shopping” section of the benefits page before you’ll see the Lululemon credit.

Both should allow you to enroll (I’ve enrolled in both without issues), and once you’ve done that, those statement credits should roll in once you’ve used your Platinum Card to make some eligible purchases.

Final thoughts

I’m very aware that not everyone reading this will have access to a wide range of Resy restaurants (some may not have access to any at all) and not everyone will want or need anything from Lululemon (a brand which seems to have become ridiculously expensive while letting standards slip), so the information in this article won’t be relevant to everyone.

But the fact remains that if you live in a major city you’ll probably have quite a few Resy restaurants to choose from and given the cost of eating out nowadays, triggering the $100 Resy credit should be simple.

When it comes to the Lululemon credit, don’t let it go to waste. Even there’s nothing in the store (or online) that you’d like or need, make a purchase anyway (keep it under $75) and then donate whatever it is that you buy to a local charity shop.

It will cost you nothing and I’m sure the charity will be grateful.

Bottom line

All of the new benefits that the refreshed Platinum Card® form American Express offers are now live and as we’re still within the third quarter of 2025, two of new quarterly benefits are valid for the next 12 days and could represent easy cash back to any Platinum Card holders that can use them
