Last week, we wrote about three Chase limited-time targeted promotions that had appeared for stays at Renaissance Hotels, TownePlace Suites and Aloft Hotels, but since then it looks like two more targeted promotions for stays at Marriott bands have appeared.

One has an incredible short booking window but is quite generous, while the other has a longer booking window but isn’t quite as valuable. Both may be useful.

Save $50 at W Hotels

For some reason, Chase has put an incredibly short booking window on this offer (you have to pay by 22 September 2024) but it’s a more generous promotion than we normally see from Chase.

Ordinarily, hotel offers from Chase take the form of a percentage rebate (which is capped) based on a minimum spend. This offer, however, is more like the Amex hotel offers that we’re used to seeing.

Anyone loading this offer to a targeted Chase credit card will earn a $50 statement credit when they spend $250 on a W Hotel booking that’s paid for by 22 September 2024.

  • Offer valid one time only.
  • Offer only valid on purchases made directly with the merchant.
  • Offer not available at other Marriott properties.
  • Offer not valid on purchases made using third-party services, delivery services, or a third-party payment account (e.g., buy now pay later).

Sure, it’s annoying that the offer is running for such a short period of time (I suspect that it was a 15-day offer when it launched), but for anyone who can prepay a future W Hotels booking or for anyone who happens to be paying for a W Hotel stay in the next few days, this a pretty good deal (especially by Chase standards).

Get 10% back at Autograph Collection properties

This is a pretty standard targeted Chase offer because rather than offering a set rebate, it’s offering a percentage rebate (capped) on payments above a specified threshold.

Anyone loading this offer to a targeted Chase credit card will earn a 10% statement credit (capped at $62) when they spend a minimum of $100 on an Autograph Collection booking that’s paid for by 21 October 2024.

  • Offer valid one time only.
  • Complete payment for your stay must be made by 10/21/2024.
  • Offer only valid at Autograph Collection Hotels properties.
  • Offer not valid at AC Hotels or other Marriott properties.
  • Offer not valid on purchases made using third-party services, delivery services, or a third-party payment account (e.g., buy now pay later).

This isn’t as generous as the W Hotels offer (unless you happen to be spending in excess of $500), but with it being valid for significantly more time, it’s probably going to have wider appeal.

Quick thoughts

Apart from the fact that there’s cash back on the table here, the other piece of good news is that there doesn’t appear to be anything in the terms and conditions that restricts the cash back to bookings made at properties in the US.

Technically, therefore, these offers should trigger when you spend at any W Hotel or Autograph Collection property around the world (assuming you hit the minimum spending criteria).

That makes these offers a lot easier to use than a lot of the Amex travel offers we see.

Keep in mind that these deals are valid one time only, so not only do you have to hit the spending targets in one go, but once you’ve made a payment with a card to which this offer has been saved, you can’t earn the rebate again with the same card.

Unfortunately, it looks like these offers aren’t being targeted to a wide variety of Chase credit cards (ideally, you’ll have them targeted to one or more of the Chase Marriott co-branded cards), so there may not be scope to use these offers multiple times just by adding them to different cards.

As far as my cards go, I can only see these offers targeted to my Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, and while that’s good for the 2 Ultimate Rewards points/dollar that this card will earn me on any Marriott spending (it earns me 2 points/dollar on most travel spending), it would have been nice to have these offers on a few other cards so that I could lock-in the savings more than once per brand*.

*Unlike Amex, Chase doesn’t limit its offers to a single card. You can load the same offer to multiple cards (if multiple cards have been targeted) and use the offer once per card.

Bottom line

Following on from the targeted offers that we saw appear last week, Chase is now targeting select cardholders for savings at two more Marriott brands. For spending made in the next 11 days, there’s a $50 rebate available on spending of $250 or more at W Hotels and there’s a 10% rebate available through 21 October 2024 on spending of over $100 at Autograph Collection properties worldwide (capped at $62).
