Marriott Bonvoy has finally launched its first global promotion in 2026 and it’s a slightly different promotion to to the one we normally see Marriott launching around this time of year. Yes, bonus point and bonus elite night credits are still on offer, but the way the promotion is structured means that a slightly different type of traveler is being targeted this year.
The first Bonvoy promotion of 2026
Bonvoy members who register for the promotion, will earn 2,500 bonus Bonvoy points per eligible stay and 1 bonus elite night credit per Bonvoy brand at which they stay between 25 February and 10 May 2026.
Other than the limits set by the dates during which this promotion is running, there is no limit to the number of completed eligible paid stays on which a Member can earn bonus Points and bonus elite night credits.

- Marriott Bonvoy members who register for this promotion by April 26, 2026, will earn 2,500 bonus Points on each post-registration eligible paid stay during the 75-day promotion earning period. In addition, [they] will earn one bonus Elite Night Credit for each different eligible hotel brand at which [they] stay during the 75-day promotion earning period.
- The promotion earning period is for eligible paid stays completed between 12:00am on February 25, 2026, and 11:59pm on May 10, 2026, and is only for stays booked through Marriott Channels and other Qualifying Channels which include, but are not limited to: Marriott Websites, the Mobile Apps, Participating Properties, and the Customer Engagement Centers.
- A “stay” is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same property on a points-eligible rate, regardless of check-in/check-out activity, under the same one reservation or multiple back-to-back reservations.
- There is no limit to the number of completed eligible paid stays a Member can earn bonus Points and bonus Elite Night Credit on during the promotion earning period.
- Only eligible paid stays completed after promotion registration and during the promotion earning period will qualify for any bonus Points and bonus Elite Night Credits earned with this promotion.
- Eligible paid stays at Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy are eligible for promotional credit. For eligible paid stays at Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy, these bonus Points and bonus Elite Night Credit will be posted up to 6 weeks after the promotion earning period ends.
- Award redemption stays, including Cash + Points Awards, Free Night Awards, or a Points redemption stay, are not eligible for the promotion.
- Rates available through most third-party online retailers and select travel agency rates do not qualify for this promotion.
- Stays at BVLGARI, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Marriott Executive Apartments, and owner-occupied weeks at Marriott Vacation Club, Grand Residences by Marriott®, Marriott Grand Residence Club, Sheraton Vacation Club, Westin Vacation Club, The Ritz-Carlton Club, The St. Regis Residence Club, and The Luxury Collection Residence Club, are not eligible for bonus Points or bonus Elite Night Credits for this promotion.
- Only one room at one property per stay is counted toward a member’s eligible paid stays for the promotion.
- The 2,500 bonus Points will be awarded to the member’s Account within 10 business days after checkout and will post with the stay.
- One bonus Elite Night Credit per each brand stay will be posted up to 6 weeks after the Promotion has ended.
- A Member who elects to earn Miles is not eligible for this promotion.

Thoughts
Well, overall, this is a less generous promotion than the one we saw launched around this time last year.
If you’re making short (e.g. 1-night) stays at some of Marriott’s less expensive properties, you’ll probably like the fact that this year’s promotion is awarding bonus points per stay and not per night (as was the case last year), but someone making one or two multi-night stays at the more expensive properties is unlikely to feel the same way.
That said, this isn’t really going to be a lucrative promotion even if you’re a road warrior making multiple short stays.
As TFM values Bonvoy points at 0.6 cents each, the effective rebate we’re being offered from the 2,500 points is $15 per stay, and that’s not likely to be a sum that’s going to sway many people’s booking decisions.
As far as the bonus elite night credits go …
Most Bonvoy members will find it harder to earn a lot of bonus elite nights with the 2026 promotion than they did with the 2025 promotion as last year, bonus nights were offered on every eligible night consumed while this year, bonus elite night credits are only being offered for every Bonvoy brand a member visits.
That’s not great.
For those of us with access to US credit cards, that’s not really going to be a big issue given that Bonvoy Platinum status can be had just by holding the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card (terms apply).
For everyone else, however, this will probably be a little disappointing.
The final, albeit unsurprising, disappointment is the fact that, as usual, award bookings and points + cash bookings are not eligible for this Bonvoy promotion so only eligible cash stays will trigger the bonus points and elite night credits.
Note: Keep in mind that only nights consumed after registration will earn bonus points and the bonus elite night credits, so while existing reservations will qualify for this promotion (it’s not limited to new bookings), make sure you log in to your Bonvoy account and register before your next Marriott stay.
Bottom line
Marriott latest global promotion has now been published and it’s offering all Bonvoy members the opportunity to earn 2,500 bonus points per eligible stay and an elite night credit per Marriott Bonvoy brand visited between 25 February and 10 May 2026.
As Bonvoy promotions go, this is a middling one, but it’s a lot better than nothing, so make sure you head over to the promotion page and register before you forget.
