British Airways’ New Seasonal Route Between London’s City Airport and Bergerac

London City airport will see British Airways add a new route from May. The summer-only flights direct from London to Bergerac in the Dordogne will operate up to four times a week from May next year through to September.

Initially the route will operate three times a week on the following schedule:

Mondays

Depart LCY – 11:15
Depart EGC – 13:50

Fridays

Depart LCY – 09:30
Depart EGC – 12:15

Sundays

Depart LCY – 17:10
Depart EGC – 19:45

From 23 June through 1 September, there will be an additional flight on Thursdays, departing London City at 11:15 and returning from Bergerac at 13:50.

Fares are already available and appear to start at around $105 (£70/€94) for a one-way from London City Airport with round-trip fares from London City starting around $192(£128/€172).

The promotion:

  • Earn 2,000 bonus Avios per sector when traveling in Club Europe (J, C, D, R booking classes)
  • Earn 1,000 bonus Avios per sector when traveling in Euro Traveller (B, Y, H, K, M booking classes)

There is no limit to the number of flights that will qualify for this promotion.

Terms & Conditions (Highlights)

  • Open only to residents of the United Kingdom and Switzerland
  • 18 year-olds and over only
  • Participants must pre-register here
  • Flights must be booked, ticketed and purchased in the UK or Switzerland
  • Flights must depart from and terminate upon return within the UK or Switzerland
  • All travel must be complete by 31 December 2015

Clause 9 of the Terms & Conditions is the one that caught my eye. It specifies that the bonus is earned per sector and not per round-trip meaning that passengers can earn up to 4,000 bonus avios per round-trip.
